Non-Music Shit / Re: Movies I've been watching

Really dug this one. Kinda like I Drink Your Blood meets Rolling Thunder but with the humor of Evil Dead 2 or Street Trash. Sam Raimi plays a crazed Manson-esque cult leader.

Finally ended up watching this on Netflix instant view and was pleasantly surprised. Good send-up of the horror genre.

Great singer-songwriter stuff. Wish there was a vinyl version but you can track down most of the singles worth owning for pretty cheap.

I commonly use Hawkwind, Loop and Monoshock stuff for smoke breaks, too, and I laughed really hard when I heard someone say, "Jesus, another one of these songs that never end" to her friend as I walked past.  Enjoy your loudmouth soup, lab rats.

I always throw on Swell Maps "Gunboats"

Music Shit / Re: Joe Meek

I really dig Meeky Meeky Random Flakes Vol. 1 & 2. They're both collections of unfinished songs and random recordings. Definitely an acquired taste-- Joe Meek "sings" on a lot of it and he sounds like a tone deaf Buddy Holly. Really cool, though, especially if you like loner/outsider stuff.

Slept on this one. Anyone got a spare or know of any distros that are still holding?

http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/14134-city-of-straw/

I and everyone knows Pitchfork is full of shit, "pay to play", caters to indie fags, etc. but giving this Sightings record a 7.9 (.1 away from 'Best Music') when the review is positive ("among one of their best efforts", ha) is just so fucking weak. They must know that the average Pitchfork reader won't be able to handle or "understand" Sightings. Pussy's.

brings to mind this ol' thread: http://terminal-boredom.com/forums/index.php?topic=11461.0

 ? ? ? ? ? ?

Um, fascist colors for the fascist arena rockers, 'trow in joysticks for "the 80s."

Most of the examples on that website are total bullshit. Looks like someone who just learned photoshop "reinterpreting" album covers by changing the color and dropping clip art on them.

I, too, make my album covers with Powerpoint?

For what it's worth, it looks like the "artist" based the design on Eddie's trademark guitar. The joysticks make no fucking sense, tho.
