I found that in smaller towns, like when I lived in Superior, WI, girls who went to shows were genuwinely into the music, but here in SF bay area, most girls go to shows because their boyfriends take them to shows...

The girls in Superior/Duluth are great and really into (and in) the bands that come through there.  I've played both towns a couple of times and have always had a great time.
exactly my point...I spent 9 years there in the Twin Ports and there isn't much to do besides go to bars/go to shows...and everyone who goes - male or female - really gets into it and is there for the music...

girls do talk about music it's  just that you guys are all fags and they don't like you.

Souptown isn't the worst place in the world. It's a total coke-ravaged shithole, but it's got personality.
I liked it better than Duluth, Thirsty Pagan Brewery is a decent place...

just based on what I've observed since going to shows here in the bay area since the early 90's, if its a show at someone's house then it's definitely a social thing to hang out and get fucked up with friends, San Jose has lots of different houses that do shows every weekend and that's usually the case, usually bands that no one there has even heard of...but everyone goes because everyone knows each other and it's always a party but with live background music...  but if it's at a proper venue then yeah, more people will be there specifically for whatever bands are playing there...for the music... small towns suck, Fuckperior, Wisconsin was the worst...

because girls only go to shows for social reasons, like their bf's like a certain band - so then they do...not always the case, but that's it mostly fuckin

The Dead are boring...which means I don't listen to them at all..   Count Five has songs I dig, which means I listen to them from time to time... either way, it's good he's been dead for awhile now...and his ice cream sucks too...

I remember when he died, I was like 15 and the guy on the radio was like "Jerry Garcia died today...who was he? A migrant farm worker??  I'm sorry, I don't know who he is"

one band I'll never get or understand is The Dead... even growing up and living here in the SF bay Area, I can't stand even a single song by them...   and listening to them high would only be a waste of drugs, there's better music from that time period and from CA to listen to, The Doors, Count Five, Love...

Branching into an intertwined family tree, I do reckon that much of the Ellipsis 5x12" by Scorn also sounds good at the wrong speed.

I'd like to see select moments of God and Scorn get reissued on vinyl.
A lot of the best Scorn was CD-only back in the day.
Scorn!   Mick Harris...  the only post-Nik Bullen one I liked was Gyral...everything after sounded like...Gyral...on Ellipsis Ioved Bill Laswell's mix of "Nights Ash Black" would be interesting at the wrong speed...

Why has no one mentioned Thee Hounds Of Foggy Notion LP/DVD? Awesome in a polybag, it's a multimedia cumshot. I've never seen them live.....I don't like to leave the house since someone might break in and try to steal my whiskey, but one day. One day.
I enjoy that one quite a bit, only watched the dvd once, but on early foggy morning wake & bake drives to the beach it's a great one to listen to...

their "Live at KEXP" session is probably the best recording of them... aside from "Help"
