Finally got around to subscribing to WWE Network, all because of NXT. I've been a lifelong wrestling fan ('80s WWF boom as a kid, missed some early '90s, back in mid-'90s thanks to ECW and Monday Night Wars) but lapsed over the past 10 years (got rid of cable, general burn out of trying to keep up, fewer and fewer friends watching, a friend's wife forbidding us to watch wrestling in their house [for real?]).
Being a born and raised East Coaster (got the fuck out of there 10 years ago) I went to lots of NJ/NYC/Philly indie shows in the wake of ECW dying. Saw lots of early ROH. NXT definitely has that high-level indie/ROH feel and also probably has lots of guys that would have been in ROH at this stage of their career (including ROH alums like Samoa Joe, Austin Aries). I remember the Briscoes as high schoolers in CZW and early ROH. Got my questions answered on what they've been up to...
