Cracked Actor-Nazi School 7in
Throbbing Gristle-20 Jazz Funk Greats
Jerry's Kids-Is this my world?
Young Marble Giants-Collossol Youth
Black Sabbath-vol. 4
Kids-s/t

And now i'm home listening to Electric Eels...tough day.

Music Shit / Re: A perfect song.
« on: February 28, 2008, 02:50:51 PM »
i agree there are a lot of seemingly perfect Love songs. "Gazing" and "Can't Explain" are the first that come to mind. Big Star-September Gurls is pretty much the embodiement of a perfect song to me though, i could listen to it a thousand times in a row and not get bored of it.

Music Shit / Re: TYVEK
« on: October 08, 2007, 03:14:28 PM »
i like tyvek a lot too, but i think they're just a tad bit over rated. i've seen em live once, they were a lot of fun, but best band in the world right now? really? i could think of quite a few, including physcadelic horseshit, who i've never seen live, that i like a lot more. there certainly good though, and i will continue buying there records, just never got why so many people lose their shit over them, but to each his own.

listening to the new lamps lp i picked up yesterday and its sounding pretty damn good. also picked up the new church police 7in. skulltones just put out. has anybody else seen this? 3 unreleased tracks from 1982 and there all killer. totally random but great because "the oven is my friend" was always one of my favorite songs from not so quiet on the western front and i always wished this band would have realsed more, just had no idea this record was in the works.

haha i bet there's about a dozen bands named tourettes and they all probably suck, but this one's pretty good. plus holy shit! are pretty much the best thing going in hardcore right now so if yr close enough to come to this show and miss it it's your loss.

Saturday, Septmeber 8th at Jan's Room:

HOLY SHIT!-recent mrr coverboys blast crazed and spastic hardcore/p u n k. carrying in the tradition of fucked up, singular sounding midwestern hc bands, this milwauke, wisconsin foursome sounds like an orgy of early japanese hardcore ala gauze and systematic death and past wisconsin greats like mecht mensch and die kreuzen on speed. easily one of tthe best and most original hardcore bands around today.new lp out on criminal iq records.
http://www.myspace.com/holyshit

Middle America- local hardcore assholes play a bunch of sloppy "thrash" songs in ten minutes of less. odds are someone will be injured and equimpment will be destroyed.

Pocket Gallows-noisy, heavy and raw female fronted no wave/art punk.

Tourette's-Doysletown crew unleash noisy, adrenline filled hardcore. first show in a while so don't miss it.

yep, same bread machine and they've only gotten better since. coincidentally, the venue this show is at is in the same building as jeff the pigeon, but in the front on the first floor instead of in the basement. you should come if you live close by, all the bands scheduled might even play this time...
235
daniel, when and where did you see bread machine? i don't believe they've played outside of the tri state area very often, but are defenlty always a good time.

New Flesh-Baltimore, Maryland's favorite pig fuckers bludgeon the listener with noisy punk dirges. Absolutely disgusting, if you missed them the many other times they've played allentown do yourself a favor and be at this show. www.myspace.com/thenewflesh

Little Claw-Noise Rock from Michican on tour with Pink Reason. Ecstatic Peace records. www.myspace.com/littleclaw

Upcoming Shows/Tours/Events / Re: DRY ROT US TOUR
« on: August 01, 2007, 09:32:54 PM »
dry-rot continue to blow my mind. played tonight in allentown with under pressure who were defently one of the best bands i've seen all summer. fucking great. then dry rot plays, the humidity in the space is so bad the ceiling's dripping, their drummer apparently through up in his mouth during there set cause it was so hot, and they just go off on every song totally sloppy and not caring at all, picking up doors, juming into pile's of trash, etc. they end with bleached, at which time the guitarist opens a bottle of bleach and heaves it onto the floor and the singers back...he's already going nuts but then the bleach starts burning through his pants and on his skin and he runs out of the room and into the bathroom to wash it off, a couple people get it in their eyes but their fine, and i go home liking this band even more.

i've been in love with this band since hearing that first 7 in. months ago. defintely an intriguing band, but i honestly think there just weird guys who like all kinds of fucked up music and play whatever they feel like. thought the christian thing was a joke for a while, but i guess its not, oh well. i'm really excited to see what theyre live show will be like when they play philly.
