This must be the wprst use of a punk song so far. I wonder if Pete Shelley get any say in this being used or is it the label/publishers decision only?

Dinosaur - In A Jar is my favourite example. I thought of a bunch of these awhile back but memory a bit shot. No Means No - Sad is another cracker.

Music Shit / Captain Sensible appreciation thread

My favourite guitarist of all time, mainly for I Think I'm Wonderful, incredible intro and solo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lib7_K3-OYs
Also the creepiness of Suicide, the shredding on Melody Lee and the plethora of killer licks and riffs that in my opinion are unrivalled for individuality and catchiness, Strawberries having some of the best. I love his vocals too; Stranger On The Town blowing Vanian's crooning away as an example. The post Brian James Damned is hugey overlooked and underrated, Sensible is a genius.
Just needed to get that out of my system.

This must be the craziest use of hc on mainstream tv so far. Probably UK only on the Dave channel.

I got to thinking about the amount of one man punk and hc recordings there have been and as far as memory serves they are all excellent. The earliest example of this phenomena I heard was Skjit-Lars on Welcome To 1984 which is a blinder. 30 years later the superb 5 track Mad Men demo by Jonah from Career Suicide. Then there are my two favourite current bands Tenement and Coneheads. Not punk or hc but well worthy of a mention is the mighty Ildjarn especially Forest Poetry. I seem to recall that the 1st Boston Strangler demo was all by the singer? Also the Harhaa demo which was supposed to be one guy from Kremlin but it sounds exactly like Kremlin?
Are there any others?

Music Shit / 2015; 6 months gone already, what's been good?

Tenement - Predatory Headlights Dbl lp
Just when I was beginning to think that I would never hear a truly classic lp ever again, this turn up. It's like if Bob Mould and Grant
Hart wrote songs together instead of being whinging bitches trying to out do each other. Amos Pitsch is a genius.

Coneheads - Selected Ringtones Tape 3
Their (or should I say 'his') best so far. Coincidentally, like Tenement this is recorded by one geezer playing everything but a whole band
play it live. This guy is another genius in the making.

Blunt Sleazy Ep
Stick Ryan Abbott behind the kit and you're guaranteed classic hardcore.

Dawn Of Humans - Slurping At The Cosmos Spine
Compared to the eps it's pretentious and lacking substance but it's still an 8/10

Devouring Ghost - Soundtrack
You could call it wankery. I do, because it is. It's still fucking great though one of the best if not the best of a dubious genre.

Sleaford Mods - Whatever they've done this year I'll like it
Blokes my age doing stuff that makes me want to do it. It doesn't get better than that.

Non-Music Shit / The Aquabats Supershow (Devo)
« on: June 13, 2015, 12:52:00 PM »
The best new kids show in years, my son's been watching it since it started. Once you get past the guitarist being a (on purpose I suspect) deadringer for Dave Grohl it's all good, really good. Apparently there's a Devo influence and Mark Mothersbaugh pops up in one episode as one to their fathers. There are some brilliant mock adverts and a lot of stuff for the adults to pick up on including the lyrics to Gigantic being quoted. Every episode I've seen has been top.

Tears of joy turned to despair as my new Tenement dbl turns up on my doorstep on it's release date too. Strange as I'm in the uk but anyhoo.
So I get the download card out and I'm sent to the Don Giovanni site where everything turns to shit. I have to log in to download my code? WTF? So it doesn't recognise my account info so I make a new one with my other email address and log in to the site, no probs. I then go to the download page and it won't recognise my new account info. I have asked for new passwords for both accounts and no reply at all. Aren't those things automatic? Am I being impatient?
At this rate I might have to actually play the record
