Here's a list of the UK records from '86-'90 that I am keeping because I actually play them. I was amazed how few there were, especially when compared to the previous 5 years. It was a pretty grim era

Music Shit / What did Metal ever do for Punk?

I make no secret of my dislike of metal. I bought the 1st Slayer and Metallica lps when they came out on the recommendation of a certain individual (you know who you are) I also bought Crossover and Tangled Up when they came out and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I roll my eyes every time I see Japanese bands spout their undying admiration for Heresy and Ripcord.
Maybe I'm old, cynical and jaded. But I ask ya...... what DID Metal EVER do for Punk?

Red PIL shirt

Bought in 1980 when I was 13 and worn on a school trip to Normandy. I thought I was well Punk Rock. It rained all day and the place was shit and covered in graffiti. We bought French sticks and hollowed them out and put in fireworks and flick knives and then stuffed the bread back in. We didn't really want fireworks or flick knives, they were just the two things we were told NOT to buy.

The other afternoon, while bored, I was well made up when I executed a perfect 'Brigadier' much to the astonishment of the other people in the doctor's waiting room*

Channel 3 ? Mannequin; This still sends shivers down my spine. I was 14 when I bought it in ?82 and found it very disturbing. I could never shake the feeling that it might be factual. What a fucking belter though!!

Husker Du ? Diane; The part about piling the clothes in a neat little pile was always a bit haunting.

Dead Kennedys ? Police Truck; To this day how making somebody shit in their pants to make sex more pleasurable remains a mystery to me.

Music Shit / German punk various artists lp '80-'81?

Back in the early 80's a local market had a big pile of a comp lp of German bands including one that I thought were called the Shirtz. A google has turned up nothing so I could be wrong about that. The cover was blue with band pics on it and the only other thing I remember was that it was complete shit. I sold it in '83 but would really like to know what it was.

Music Shit / 1977-1979 12" Versions Of Punk Singles Pressing Info?

Does anyone know the pressing quantities of 12" vs 7" of, for example Eater Lock It Up, Slits Typical Girls and Sham I Don't Wanna? There seems to be huge amounts of 12"'s for these but others too. Surely the kids didn't have the money or the need for high quality 12"'s back in the day? Maybe the 12"'s have survived better but I doubt that going by the few I do have.

Non-Music Shit / Ebay; When To Give Negative Feedback?

In the past few months I have started to leave negs for sellers that I have decided to call 'THE CUNTS'. Leaving negs is something I have always been against in the past as being a seller with a near 4000 rating with 100% feedback I feel it detrimental to the whole ebay experience....HOWEVER!
The guy who sold me what appeared to be a mint Dickies 7" that arrived looking like it had been found in a skip.
Seller said, 'It must have been damaged in the post, it was fine when I sent it'
A blatant lie as the packaging was fine and the damage was the kind that takes years of handling to aquire.
Stock photo used, destination.....NEG CITY!
My next decision was to leave negs for sellers who expext me to send back their over graded item (has obvious bad faults not visible in the picture) at my expense!!
Here's how it works;
Seller pays for return postage and gives me a full refund. I'll do this and will try to refrain from leaving a neutral.
Seller makes me return item at my expense (paypal rules to get a refund) destination....that's right....NEG CITY!! (with added descriptive vitriol)

Your thoughts?
