The first three records by the Mau Maus are essential, as is the 'Lest we forget' ep by Blitzkrieg. This thread could perhaps do with a bit more love for Mayhem too. If anyone has a copy of their 'pulling puppets strings' ep that they want to offload then give us a shout!

Agreed - Mau Maus "Facts Of War" is a great EP. Pax was a good label - the Xtract 7" is stunning and then there's the Anti System EP.

What are the real rarities of this scene? There must have been some small pressings among the No Future/Riot City/Crass size pressings.

I guess the later records from No Future/Riot City have smaller pressings as most seem to fetch high prices regardless of quality.

I wouldn't have signed up if it hadn't been for the inclusion of Tenement. Ropes, Culo and Omegas and Male Nurses should be cool too but it will be interesting how they're going to be packaged.

I've just rediscovered my love of Canadian Rifle, everything they've done is pretty spotless. Anyone heard the recent tape?

I still have that Fits 7" and would never sell it, it's a testament to the greatness of bad. How about Instant Agony? They had connections with Swanage of all places, they're dire.
Dead Man's Shadow; very rarely mentioned but this is great and sounds remarkably like a NIRVANA song.

1st 2 Riot Clone eps have stood the test of time.
I agree with your list of bad with added Special Duties, they nearly put me off punk in '81. Vice Squad did Peel sessions, lord knows why, I do have a soft spot for Last Rockers though. No, wait....Young Offender's brilliant!

The last Exploited I bought was Dead Cities. I got it mailorder, in the same package was In God We Trust and In A Car. It's hard to believe this really happened but it did. Dead Cities on UK prime time tv. I watched it with my parents.

For sure - IMHO that was a wtf moment. And 'In A Car'......I'd give Chamber's right arm to find a copy of that in the 2nd hand record shops of Glastonbury.

The one and only record shop in Glasto is fucking horrendous but to be fair it is in keeping with the rest of the shops in the town. I did however find a mint copy of the Crane Weathervein lp in there to upgrade my well played copy for ?3 a while back which is one of the very few late 80's UK records worth talking about.
BTW I don't care what you'd give for a copy of In A Car, my right arm or not, you still haven't got a fucking cartridge on your 'Music Centre' to play it on.

That's yours that is.

Tenement. The splits with Culo and Cheeky in particular but everything they've done is superb. Amos is the best song writer of the new millenium.

It's strange that no matter how hard bands try they cannot re-create the '82 sound or more to the point song writing talent.

Anything with Calvert rules, Quark especially. The 80's are much maligned, levitation has some excellent tracks as does Sonic Attack from '84 check out Rocky Paths, a fucking blinder, Huw lloyd langton at his best.

How about this Inner City Unit classic; their song for Magaret Thatcher; 'Little girls are pretty, robot...you're not...you're a CUNT'!
