About halfway through Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door. Very hard to get through at certain junctures.

Yes, I am a horror fan and read all the King's etc. back in the eighties, but my brother in law gave me a copy of this 20 years ago and I found it insanely (for the time) graphic and believable. It was a bit too real. He got it at the airport or something and the lurid cover of a cheerleader with a skullface led me to believe that it was just another pulp horror grab...No,very dark and very disturbing. Ketchum and Laymon are sick, sick men.
