watched Paul Schrader's Hardcore today. George C Scott plays a christian dad whose daughter gets kidnapped and involved in the porn biz. He goes undercover to find her, wears funny 70s clothes, beats up a "faggot hustler", and raises hell. great flick.

i've seen the first one in the yakuza papers, but none of the others. i wanna get the whole box set and get a day or two or three and watch the whole series at once. loe fukasaku. recently saw Message From Space, his cheesy Star Wars rip off. not great, but pretty entertaining. the first Female Scorpion is awesome, havent seen the other ones. still need to see the Zero Woman movies.

Tokyo Drifter

If ya like that (one of my favorites), get Branded to Kill ASAP.  Suzuki is the MAN.  And then Blackmail is My Life by Kinji (Battle Royale) Fukasaku, which has a cool little tie-in to Drifter and is another cool 60's Japanese pulp film.

Tokyo Drifter is a top 5 fave of all time. if you like Fukasaku then you've gotta see Graveyard Of Honor. most bad ass yakuza film ever.

at home now.
Godard's Weekend which i really liked.
MPD Psycho vol 3. great and bizarre japanese detective series directed by Takashi Miike.
Peckinpah's Junior Bonner starring Steve McQueen which i havent gotten to yet.

gotta see fc2
straw dogs is awesome. got to see it again on the big screen in paris.

i love pretty much all cronenberg. the brood is one of his best. in the cronenberg on cronenberg he talks about that being his kramer vs kramer/divorce movie. those kids are some of the coolest monsters ever.

def see punishment park.

Hell House is a great doc. i love wacky christians.

bought The Backyard at tower records today for 5 bux. really well made, hilarious at times, and violent doc about backyard wrestling. also a must.
