Music Shit / New music videos
« on: March 28, 2018, 11:25:31 AM »
inspired by how cool the new Crack Cloud video is, it would be cool to see more actual music videos (not just live clips/performances) by current bands.

Crack Cloud - Uncanny Valley
https://youtu.be/Q6VHmmZrIDk

part of a trilogy that includes these previous two

Crack Cloud - Swish Swash
https://youtu.be/yM7-RXWp3Q8 (Fave of the bunch)

Crack Cloud - Image Craft

One side 45, other side 33 are the best.

Anyone else order records and CDs from Sessions skate catalogs back in the day? A lot of my early punk purchases were from them.

If Nirvana doesn't count, then it was this:

Same for me. I got into the Beasties at age 11 a few months before Ill Communication came out and Some Old Bullshit was the first thing I bought by them just because it had a cuss word in the title and not realizing it was a collection of their hardcore stuff. This and them covering Minor Threat on the Sabotage home video collection got the ball rolling in terms of diving deeper into punk.

Pretty much just the vocals.  Sometimes things remind you of something without actually sounding like them though.

new rik and the pigs lp.

one of the best sounding punk records of the last 35 years. Scratching my head why I haven't read more comparisons to Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartment + The Flesheaters. Great stuff.

Crucifucks come to mind when listening to this.

But there's plenty of world-class French pop music -- too many names to name, really.

but Jordy is the only one that really matters.

Saw Paddington 2 this week. A near perfect movie. Haven't left a theater that cheerful in a long time. Watched the first one soon after and it's also quite good.

Didn't know about this until it was mentioned in MES thread and feel like he deserves a thread as well.

One of my favorite punk voices. Poison 13 and Lord High Fixers were crucial gateway bands for a lot of great garage and blues tunes, and I've grown to appreciate how LHF injected avant garde, social consciousness, and jazz aspects into their sound and aesthetics considering what most of their contemporaries were doing.

R.I.P.

Didn't know this dude personally, but I certainly appreciated him putting out that first Hue Blanc's Joyless Ones album. RIP.

One of my favorite records from the past few years. Have owned a few other things on that label (Black Time 12" being one of my faves). Def seemed like a label that was in it for the love of the music. Sad to hear and condolences to those who knew him.

Terminals - Antiseptic

Didn't think this was the actual NZ Terminals when I saw record at shop so I didn't bother listening until reading about it in a year end list. Terrific and up to par with anything else they've put out.

RANDOM THOUGHT:

The Carbonas LP that Mitch put out on Raw Deluxe is the best punk record of the 2000s imo

REAL TALK

Heartily thirded

Still think the Frantic LP is the best thing to ever come out of ATL.
