What's an example of a shitty post punk band?  I mean there's still plenty of basic "punk" punk and garage, pop whatever out there.

People are still doing bands in 2020?....regressive as fuck.  Lets move on people

I've enjoyed every episode of the series so far.

How many other bands are going to be in it?

I think the Whites were around 27...Greg and Jon were early 30s

Outside of the first few singles and the first full length, I always thought Timmy's Organism was a little too goofy and generic for me, and thought they were the least essential of Timmy's project. That Genetic Armageddon stuff is really cool though, particularly in an altered state of mind.

Totally agree.  Raw Sewage Roq has some super goofy fuckin lyrics....i dont expect hi level lyricism from dude but that Cats on the Moon song is Burger level bad.  I do like a few songs on that album but that's his most generic project for sure...by the numbers Timmy.  I haven't really cared for the other albums by that band either.  still solid live, mostly bc you can't hear the lyrics and his guitar sound is still really good

I'm out of the loop on most punk/garage/metal/termbo shit for the last 10 years...just not that interested anymore

As far as I can remember....

Human Eye - They Came From the Sky
Total Control - Henge Beat
Puffy Areolas - Dishonorable Discharge
Obnox - Outer Space
Destruction Unit - Deep Trip
Gary Wrong Group - 2XLP

Greg sounds like absolute garbage in that clip.  It's 3-4 power chords on dirt simple songs you've been playing for over 30 years and you're still lagging?  Damn...maybe he has arthritis.  Drummer is pretty crap too but Greg to me was the worst part

Pere Ubu - Dub Housing

Boogarins - Sombrou Duvida .... not as good as Manual but still decent neo psych....not sure about the fake warbling Boards of Canada/Black Moth Super Rainbow effect that they put on some of the songs tho

Kokoko - Fongola ....my favorite band going right now.  Congolese band doing postpunk/dance/Afrofunk played on instruments made out of garbage.  Probably the best live show I've seen in years as well

Freddie Gibbs/Madlib - Bandana.  Album of the year so far, better than Pinata

Stereolab - Chemical Chords ....i usually prefer the more Kraut-lounge material but this is growing on me

Have never been able to tolerate Nots vocals...always sounds like such a put-on.  Probably my problem more so than that they’re objectively bad, although I know a couple people that feel the same way.  I definitely like some of the instrumentation but I’ve avoided all of their albums after seeing them live a million times as being part of other bills.

Vocals were meh but honestly the actual music itself always bored me.  It's not bad but nothing stands out.  And the same floor tom drumbeat gets monotonous.  i'll check out the new one

Alan Vega - Saturn Strip....his best solo album imo
Kid Creole and the Coconuts - Off The Coast
Liquid Liquid
Lizzy Mercier Descloux - Fresh Color

As far as record stores, Reckless is still pretty solid.  Dave's too

Food
Pizza - Pequod's, also Boiler Room
Mexican - L'Patron
Cuban - Senor Pan
Would definitely go to Uptown, good Vietnamese and Ethiopian food up that way
Lots of good spots up in Edgewater too

Jibaritos and Mas is solid Puerto Rican food...in Humboldt

As far as bars, my favorite is Cary's which is in West Ridge.  Really good selection but really affordable.

She did an awesome cover of "Nightclubbing" too.....was even sampled in a big 2000s hip hop hit single
