Sheer Mag kinda does just sound like a tougher Tina and Total Babes. It's perfectly fine but their records are pretty unmemorable and non descript...sounds kinda generic to me. It's not bad per se but it's weird how ppl latch on to certain groups and diss others doing similar stuff. Luck of the draw or good PR machine....

« on: July 17, 2017, 06:56:43 AM »16 Wires is a MASTERPIECE. 1995 Demos CD is probably their punkest stuff. I've come to prefer Terminal Boredom V.2 to the original now, but still a classic no matter how you slice it. But 16 Wires is beyond all that even.
Good call on the demos. I vastly prefer the 95 Demos to TB.

Melton's music has always been the most tepid Ren Fair version of glam/power pop/whatever.
Had the pleasure of opening for Bare Wires and was rewarded with a cure for my recent insomnia.

Culture is super meh.....it's the album for casuals and yuppies who like trap all of a sudden. No thanks. No label 2 and rich n timeline was their peak...no they're just coasting...glad they're getting that Todd n Stacy money now. Middle class and rich kids who like to use the word "trap" when talking about their finance or middle mgmt corporate jobs
Kodak's album was ok...not very memorable but not bad
Kendricks voice is kinda annoying to me but you can't deny the beat on Humble
