Non-Music Shit / Re: Your morning routine
« on: October 17, 2013, 05:48:18 PM »
Mon, Wed, Fri: Wake up at 10-5 minutes before my alarm goes off at 6:45, without fail. I hate the sound of an alarm, so my brain somehow knows it's time. Try to come up with a reason to call in sick, but never do. Take a shower, try to eat cereal, take my medication. Gather up whatever I need for work/school that day. Hit the road at 7:30, show up to work at 8. Sometimes I'll drink coffee and regret it an hour later when I'm shaking and absolutely terrified of everything.

Tues, Thurs: Same as the other days, but an hour earlier.  It's dark when I leave in the morning and dark when I return, which bums me out big time.

I saw a high schooler wearing a Misfits shirt when I was in Jr High. Pretty sure it was the JFK headshot design. I instantly knew that I was into punk. So I got a Misfits tape and it was on. Somehow, the next band I got into was Rudimentary Peni.

I lived in Southern California, so in high school I got into pretty much all the stuff that was currently happening in the area, like Le Shok, The Stitches, Dystopia, and the bad stuff from San Diego.

So I guess it was mainly seeing bands live that did it for me, but the Misfits really planted the seed.

Will the yuppies start moving back to the suburbs when they realize that's where they pushed all the "real" people?

Anyways, I work in a bong factory. I hate it, because I hate stoner culture. I'm just doing it until I finish this living nightmare that is an engineering degree.

Then I look forward to being a part of the housing market problem. That is, if jobs for humans in America even exist by that point.

Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany. Maybe another one that I'm forgetting? Thanks to touring.

Mexico is my favorite. I don't really like traveling, but that could just be because I hate Europe. The only countries I'd like to visit are Australia and Argentina.

Not dark, weird, whatever, but Buck Owens is still the best.

Pretty sure this gets posted wherever some asks about country: http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2007/11/country-fuzz-sp.html . Dirty, fuzzy country.

Hey Bazooka Joe,

If you are looking for a new bike, I recommend you check out Fairdale bikes. They are a pretty new company that is catching on pretty fast. Their bikes are under $1000 with several under $500. Real simple and straightforward, and seem like a pretty good bike for someone who just wants to ride around town or lose some weight without getting too serious.

I bought the Coaster a few months ago and couldn't be more happy with it. I get around town on it easily, no gears or brakes to worry about.

Just my two cents

The Parlor on 43rd and Guadalupe is fairly punk I guess. There are three East Side Pies. The original East Side Pies is next to Trailer Space records, seems kinda punk? Everyone has tattoos, but who the hell doesn't? All the employees at the Little Caesar's on 38th and Guadalupe seem the most punk to me.

I feel like I keep seeing now hiring signs, but I can never remember where. I'll be more conscious of it now.

Just look on craigslist. You never know what you might find. I got a job the 2nd day I moved here doing "part time warehouse work". Turned out it's a glass blowing shop and now I make pipes and work whatever hours I need.

My house is $1400 for 3 bedrooms. North Loop and Guadalupe.  I've noticed considerably less methheads and way more yuppies in the past 2 months or so though, so....

I checked out some huge dirt-cheap houses yesterday on the other side of the highway- East 51st area. About as "hood" as Austin gets, i.e. not very.
