I listened to Screeching Weasel as late as high school. Ugh!
Unfortunately for me, I still have a calf tattoo of the SW logo from when I was 19, which is far too late in life to be listening to that band.

As a younger man, I was really into bands like A Minor Forest, Party of Helicopters, Milemarker, Sleepytime Trio, etc. and I really don't know what I was thinking in retrospect.

Yo I actually still ride for Party Of Helicopters.....i love the guitars....vocals too actually....Aged much better than a lot of the screamo era stuff

Not much that i question really....I dunno if thats the right word....definitely can do without  the pop punk i listened to in the 90's. The misogyny rampant in that shit wasn't obvious to me when i was young, but i hear some of that stuff now and i want to throw up. In a parallel....there is a whole 2nd scene of "punk" shit in Atlanta and it is comprised of people who seemingly only believe punk existed in the 90s (pop punk AND street punk). Our scenes do not interact at all (thankful) and with whatever internet presence they have its obvious they hold the word of thee prophet Fat Mike in high esteem.

If you mean what am I embarrassed of? Shit nothing. Why? Whether i think its good or shite now, getting into pop punk at 10 got me here....to this illustrious message boa...

also seeing Puffys at the same venue was amazing. Dug them more live then on record. They played on the floor at the best sounding venue in the city which was hilarious. and at some point Damon thru his guitar in a trash can  and a friend picked it up and started playing it. They stayed at my house and it was chill. I don't remember anyone's name besides Damon, but if you post here than HEY!

And one of my favorite things when seeing DU live is to watch the one guy who just kind of plays a guitar every so often wander around the stage seemingly just tripping out...

one time seeing them in Atlanta, Ryan started sliding his guitar against a velvet curtain...i guess trying to get like a sliding glissando effect on the guitar...which didn't work....then he fell off stage. Great fuckign show (no sarcasm)

i fucking love your distro, dude

edit: added comma to change "distro dude" to "distro, dude".

Hey thank a lot! I try to be as diverse as i can, while still having a focus. I owe a lot of thanks to Termbo for the support over the years.

Finally i got the latest pressing of Daniel Schmidt's "In My Arms, Many Flowers" which is a beautiful archival release from the late 70's early 80's of music for gamelan orchestra. In my top releases for 2016 and they can't print this thing fast enough. Highly recommended!

Tremendous record. Just picked up this repress myself, and I'm really glad it's back in print for a second (only 1,000 copies, from what I understand, so don't sleep) as the prices on the 2016 pressing were getting ridiculous. The perfect soundtrack for a relaxing afternoon seeping into the couch.

Yeah, this will sell out quick....Ive ordered direct on a lot of stuff from Recital, but he was already sold out of what he could wholesale, but thankfully Forced Exposure still had copies. I was lucky to get the 2nd pressing last year, and even that is up to like 60-70 bucks!

Another killer update today! First off 2 killer shirts (Kleenex and Deux) from my friends at Terminal Classic. These shirts are some of my favorite I have seen in awhile and it appears that they have discontinued the Deux, so get one before they're gone. Next up we have all 3 of the first round of Haruomi Hosono LP reissues. I've already sold through a bit of what i got even before i had a chance to upload them. Also got the 3 This Heat reissues: Repeat, Live 80/81, and Peel Sessions....all on LP for the first time i believe. SPF (Cube related) restock and the label has confirmed it is sold out and won't be reprinted (after filling backordered i have 4 left). Got some more of these cheap Dub reissues in including Augustus Pablo and Scientist. New Primo LP, which after listening to the whole thing, I'm sold. I dug it from the beginning, but i feel like talons were unleashed on side B and it started to stick with me. Members of Terry if you are unfamiliar with them, and a bit more somber....75% less cowboy hat. Also got copies of Arthur Russell's "Calling Out Of Context" 2xLP (which never stays in print long). Still have copies of the Loose Joints 7" i got in last update too. Predator new 7" is in. Finally i got the latest pressing of Daniel Schmidt's "In My Arms, Many Flowers" which is a beautiful archival release from the late 70's early 80's of music for gamelan orchestra. In my top releases for 2016 and they can't print this thing fast enough. Highly recommended!

This morning so far:
Steve Reich "Drumming" 2xLP

perfect trance music for this mornings coffee....slowly arousing me from horizontal state to vertical and now i am screen printing listening to some 90's outsider/noise:

Zeek Sheck "Zeek Sheck's Zemag Daeh" as well as Australia's Thug with "Mechanical Ape / Proud Idiots Parade" (ok this was 87). Back to back play was subliminal...but very fitting. I love the otherworldliness of Zeek Sheck, Caroliner, Melted Men and the like. Reminds me of miniature insect worlds, Honey I shrunk the kid from insect perspective, Alien covers of rock music....Can't think of contemporaries i enjoy that use theatre in an interesting way. Maybe there's a bit too much gloom in out current world?

Now about to venture into the outside world and will start this part of the day off with Depeche Mode "Blasphemous Rumors" 12" on 33...cos i need something short and also alien.
