Nudge Squidfish - 20,000 Leagues... LP - This one never seems to stray far from the turntable...

Pentagram - Be Forewarned 2xLP - Getting excited for the new album with Victor Griffin back on guitar.
This new song is so catchy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEFT64ZDtWM

Country Teasers - Destroy All Human Life LP - Great for making dinner to.

Oracle - Nataraja Da Nada LP - I suppose this qualifies as hippy jam music, but goddamn if it doesn't rock.

Necessary Evils- The Sicko Inside Me LP - Hadn't pulled this one out in a while. Still kills.

Almost bought the Bang LP reissue today but backed off. Any opinions? Is it really Sabbath-esque? $25 worth? Eric Cecil, whats your take?

I've had that s/t Bang LP for a few years and it finally clicked with me recently. I'd say about half the songs are still pretty lame, and it's probably as Zeppelin-y as Sabbath-esque. Don't think I'd want to pay $25 for it.

Listening to Flamin Groovies-flamingo (so great), Thin Lizzy, Truth & Janey LP (so great, awesome sounding reissue), Spacemen 3, Warren Smith, Scientists "Human Jukebox" (really digging "Hell Beach")

Electric Wizard-Black Masses 2LP: as good as Witchcult Today

Terrific list!
How's that Stonewall LP? I see it mentioned quite a lot but to this day, I've never found a copy. Was this record ever reissued or not?

It rules from start to finish. Much less wank factor than yr average 70s rock. Reish is pretty cheap:

NP: Alvarius B-Blood Operatives... LP-can't stop listening to this

Are Barrells and I the only people on this board who appreciate the genuis of Elevator?  Hardly obscure (several albums on Sub Pop, high profile with Rick White being formerly of Eric's Trip), but you'd figure no one had ever heard of them since no one ever talks about them any more.  I mean, shit, A Taste of Complete Perspective is one of the best psych/stoner rock records of the decade.  You'd figure more people would be firing up the bong to this shit.

I was seriously just thinking this last night as I vegged out to 'Vague Premonition'. I'm surprised more of the 'Siltbreeze crowd' arent onto this stuff...and I need 'A Taste of...' on LP if you ever see 'em up there Shaun. Rick White is a genius for real.

Still back this sentiment hard. Amazing band no one else talks about except Shaun, me and this guy Brian that DJ's the radio show before ours, who actually turned me on to them years ago when I was still in college.

Yep. they rule. all the albums are great. The 3 Rick White solo LPs are really good too-not as heavy but great late night driving music.

Teenage Head - S/T LP
Finally got it on vinyl after making due with the OPM CD reissue from the 90s for 10 years or whatever.  The problem:  the CD must have some different mix or something because the LP sounds like shit and there's some crappy production "nuances" that were thankfully omitted from the CD version.  The lady stole the LP from me as soon as I opened the mailer, so it's no longer mine.  Strangely, I'm not really that broken up about it.

Is it the major label version? The LP was orig issued on an indie w/ a totally different mix & cover, then crapped up for the major label version.

The version I have is the Interglobal/Epic version...which seems shitty.  Apparently the one I need is the OPM vinyl reissue from 1981.

Yeah, the OPM is the one I meant. I forgot it came out later-due to the bands dissatisfaction with the Epic vers.

NP: Raxola.

Sorry to hijack your thread for a mo DickJohnson, but do you or anyone else seeing this have any other recommendations for fans of Obsession - other comps maybe, whatever?

The "Psych Funk 101" 2xLP that came out recently is kind of similar, and really great despite the cheesy college curriculum liners. More int'l too-stuff from Iran, Russia, South Korea, Greece, etc.

Also the same label just put out "Brazilian Guitar Fuzz Bananas" which is a killer comp-much more garage rock than say the"Tropicalia" comp.
