Anyone know what this is, really? I've got Door, Door, and it's the same songs (basically... no "Shivers" and a couple more)... but the production on this lp is much rougher than the "real" lp. Haven't listened side to side to see if it's different mixes of the same takes, or demos...

Good and underrated, in my book. Too punk for the gloomers and too ambitious for the louts.

YES! Jackson, MS punk rock juggernaut! It's a STREET LEVEL ASSAULT! It GOES WAY OUT! It's riding in the HATE VAN, on it's own ROCKET TO RUSSIA, coming BACK FROM SAMOA! Perfect!

We've been waiting for these folks to put out an album for years, and we can't believe it actually is here! Marsh & Daphne are ex-Comas, who gave the same kind of short sharp punk rock shocks, and also moonlighted in Rich Crook's Lover! Drummer Paul plays in the great Die Rotzz, no stranger to the perfect punk song themselves.

CD available now... vinyl possibly tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Hi

This is Panacea - Miss Pussycat.  John Henry and Heather are in jail. They were pulled over in Arizona a couple of days ago and are being charged with possession of enough of a controlled substance to put them both in prison for a long time - 5 to 15 years. Arizona is a very very bad state to be charged with anything. Their friends are trying to raise money so that they can both see a lawyer as soon as possible. They go before a judge on Tuesday... yes Fat Tuesday.  Their bail is profound . Lawyers ASAP seems much more important.

I have known John and Heather for over ten years. Heather has ben on tour with us to sell merch, Static Static has rocked the Spellcaster many times and I love them both and know they have lots of other friends that love them and would want to help out. Leslie, the drummer for Static Static has a Paypal account to direct donations for a lawyer .

Again, they are set to go before a judge on Tuesday and it is very important that we can get them legal counsel before hand, and beyond. This is horrible and serious and we have to help them however possible.

Send paypal donations to:    lesley.lesley@sbcglobal.net

Thanks,

 - Miss Pussycat

« on: December 30, 2009, 04:35:44 PM »
FYBS Records is proud to be releasing a new 7" from San Francisco legends, CRIME. Johhny Strike, Hank Rank, Mickey Tractor, and Count Fink  are doing two new ripping CRIME jams on the A side. On the flip we have the traditional  Morroccan band, Gnawa Express collaborating with CRIME to bring us the eerie "Suwani". there will be 400 on black vinyl and 100 on color with a special cover...all hand numbered. A sample of the cover is attatched to this email if ya wanna check it out. This shit should be out in late January...keep your eyes peeled for a record release party in Sacto. Cheers- F.Y.B.S. (AP) Add Memphis' True Sons Of Thunder to the parade of new Banjitar ensembles proliferating as the decade closes. Although even Vice Magazine has noted the trite gimmick-guitar market passed the saturation point years ago,  Alabama's Jeth-Row Records believes, for some reason, that TSOT is a gamble worth taking. The Southern boutique label has inked an exclusive one record deal with the Bluff City quintet, known more for strange costumes and throwing bass guitars through windows than for their music. "I just thought it was funny. I was wrong," is something Jeth-Row label head Chad Booth will probably proclaim sometime in April.

The album, tenatively titled A SPOONFUL OF SEEDY DUDES, is slated for a February release.

So we're watching this on youtube and the clarity is MILES above my crap tape from "the source" of years past... did this get on a dvd at some point?

Unreal footage. Some of the Radio Birdman stuff looks better, but not as drastic an upgrade.

If you've ever been to the Lamplighter in Memphis, you know how great Shirley is. Now she's got some heavy health problems and needs some help. If you can make the show, great. If not, you can still buy a ticket and all the money goes to help Shirley.

-----------------------------------

For Williams, the decision to attend Friday's gig was an easy one, as headliner Jack Oblivian has been a longtime Lamplighter patron. "I've known Jack for 20 years, and I've never seen him play; that's why I got Friday off. After all this time, I figure I should go see if he's any good," says Williams, with a chuckle.
