I'd always hear about this record and I saw a copy (a reissue, whatever) in a shop a couple days ago. It's been the only record on my player since then.

get its companion piece:

listen to two tracks from electric crush here:

Already got it, great record as well though.

I'll check out that other Muddy record, I was doing a little reading and I guess Howlin' Wolf's "The Howlin Wolf Album" had the same backing band as Electric Mud. Is it worth my time tracking that one down too?

Might not be the best pizzas record (okay, it's certainly not) but it's still better than a good number of records I've checked out lately.

I dig both sides, and my dad really likes Dead Meat if that means anything.

sounds like you're getting screwed around on that.

No one puts in the wrong amount three times.

I replayed the GG King LP to see if I still liked it as much as I thought I did- affirmative. This is probably going to be my record of the year.

Made me want to put on Carbonas though, which I'm doing now.

Talk all the shit you want about this message board but I don't think (hope) most of the people on here don't think about this shit like that. It's already bad enough that I go on and on about $10 records.

I think you said it yourself there.

Sticking massive price tags (especially in the used market) on records leads some people to think that a higher price tag gives them a right to be hearing "better music" for the more they pay. I'm still younger (I assume) than most of the bros on here but I've yet to really enter the dollar game when it comes to records. I like buying good records, but why the hell would I pay a couple hundred bucks for one good old record when I can use that same couple hundred to buy a dozen or more good new records.

Just because that one old record is $200 it doesn't mean it's going to be better than $200 worth of records released this month combined. For some reason people think that way. I know a couple dudes (who as far as I know aren't on this board) that decided they need to cut back on buying records- so they just buy fewer more expensive records in place of records coming out now that are just as good if not better. That reeks of investment rock right there. Again, I hope this isn't the logic of most people on here, and hopefully I never get that stupid idea in MY head.

"It's a little bit like having HIV," said Craft, adding that without medical attention, the condition can be fatal.

That sounds about as much like HIV as getting hit by a bus.

Krokodil is the most bizarre and disgusting thing I've seen on the internet since I was in highschool, however. I'd give up both ears and my nose before I deal with that.

I'll PP you when the postage strike ends up here, hopefully sooner rather than later- out of curiosity, do you ship from the USA or Canada?

I remember when I first saw him at shows I always assumed he was someone's father- and assumed he was a cooler dad than mine was for being there at all.

Then I found out about his unmatched knowledge and history of witnessing pretty much any major event in punk rock from the 70s all the way to his passing.

I unfortunately never had the opportunity to meet him personally but have never heard anyone at all speak ill of him to any degree, and for someone who had been around any community for that long (never mind punk rock) - that's a feat in itself. RIP.

Tried real hard not to listen to that stream until I got the record- but I caved.

ridiculous, how is every song so good?

The new GG King LP.

I wasn't sure what to make of people saying that it was so different from the EPs, so I bumped it forward in my crate of stuff I've yet to listen to. Great LP so far- at least now I know what people were talking about. Assuming it doesn't bore me after a few listens this could be the LP of the year.
