I'm just sticking my head in here quickly hoping that Jay is still reading this thread.
I heard recently from someone here in NZ that they were trying to get Jay down here for a show but were having a hard time getting in touch or the rep was a pain or some shit. Either way, Jay you should come play New Zealand. And soon. It's summer here dude, come down, get some rays, have a few beers then play a show or two. Chances are you won't make money but you should break even. people would be hyped for this shit. And all the people unfamiliar with you will then go out and buy many records.

Regards
Someone from the other side of the planet.

I didn't whether to put this comment in the ebay thread or here.

The Xpressway Pile Up comp just sold on trademe (like an NZ ebay) yesterday for $154. Some good stuff, but $154 seems a bit over the top. Two Terminals records sold together for $135.
Seller apparently has a big bunch of Flying Nun and Xpressway stuff to sell over the next few weeks so kiwis should keep an eye out.

The Terminals - Coasts Of The Shrunken.

The NZ Terminals that is. They're playing shows in Auckland & Wellington in November. Apparently there's a new album on the way also. So damn excited!

The Downliner Sect - The Sect

Arrived in the mail today. Pretty damn good.

The show was pretty damn good. They played this earlier in the set which good as it was actually surprise to hear those opening notes rather than expect them in the oncore.
Point That Thing Somewhere else as awesome as you'd expect.
I saw the Slits the previous night. Not that flash, I ended up spending the last part of the set outside in the kings Arms garden getting pissed, talking shit.

Hate to get all local and cliquey but hey, everyone here does it about some place called "Wisconsun" so fuckit. Is "The Studio" near St Kevins Arcade? I'll be back in Niew Zullund for a wee bit late March, does K Rd still have all them rotting 2nd hand record stores?

Yep, Studio is pretty right across the road.

Unfortunatley all the K Rd record stores a gone now. The record store left is auckland is Real Groovy now (not counting shitty CD chain stores) except crap house/techno specialists.

Auckland, New Zealand at The Studio on K' Rd.

Sometimes it doesn't suck living at the end of the world.

I have the VHS of the 9:30 show. I really like it. I don't see why it would be disappointing.
Now this is on DVD I'll have to run out and get it for the extras.

I really like the Boy In Uniform song. Which may have been 2005 though.

np: Hanoi Rocks - Kill City.

QFT. The Clean are playing Saturday Night here. I'll be there with bells on.
Friday night it's the Slits which I'm also looking forward to.

The Coronados - Free Again

From an album called Raw Cuts Vol One - Garage French which released about 85 on Criminal Damage Records

I'm really digging this track. Does anyone know anything about this band? I'd like to track down some more.

note- there is apparently a band called les Coronados who I think are from sth america - I'm pretty sure there's no connection.

The Real Kids thread inspired me to put on Senseless.

Before that it was The Stepford Husband's "New Ways Of Seeing". I know a lotta people write that album off as they dropped the harsher garage feel, but I like it a lot. 60's revivalist pop done well.
