Think about your kid. The first thing I think about in all dumb-dumb decisions. Think about building a whole unit/family for the boy. Think about him - thinking about you. What would he want? What do you want? Smoke grass if you want to get heavy. Take your kid around in a stroller about town or walk him hand in hand down Main. Be involved again. BE INVOLVED AGAIN.

Taking in Cody Chesnutt's - The Headphone Masterpiece. Heard a track dropped on a van mix out east. Basically been tripping out on the cut and spinning it all around in my head the whole drive back to Chicago. Don't usually ride for neo-soul in any sort of situation but I'm starting this double CD and gonna see what it brings to a guy. Anybody else feeling this???

Cities / NUMERO GROUP BROOKLYN POP UP STORE APRIL 21 - 24
« on: April 19, 2016, 06:08:25 AM »

New York Numerophiles-

For the third time in three years, Numero will grace Greenpoint with our presence. We're driving 1200 miles in a van filled with LPs, CDs, 45s, and all sorts of other additional weirdness that we've dreamed up in the last decade. Missed out on Blonde Redhead Peel Sessions, Los Alamos Grind! or the Stony Island tape? We'll have limited quantities of all. Prices will be discounted, the vibe tense and fraught with hard financial choices. Rent or records? Food or a Ned Doheny t-shirt? Date night or a quiet evening at home reorganizing your Numero shelf? Are these really choices?

The skinny:

170 Franklin, Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Thursday, April 21st: 5PM-10PM
Friday, April 22nd: 12PM-8PM
Saturday, April 23rd: 12PM-8PM
Sunday, April 24th: 12PM-5PM

Cash/Credit/Fluids

As an added bonus, we're DJing twice, both at extremely small venues with limited capacity.

Friday, April 22nd
Kinfolk
90 Wythe Avenue
10PM-4AM

Saturday, April 23rd
The Great Georgiana
Dekalb & Vanderbilt
9PM-2AM

Been in Chicago for the last two years and still dream of home every single day (Lafayette, IN) I also regularly fantasize about buying a home/compound in the Gary/Miller Beach area. Been all over but I got a big soft spot for Indiana.

4/22. Save the date. Mark it on all of those calendars you got hanging around the house. That's the drop date for the third Doberman cassette on Castle Bravo. For the unenlightened among us, Doberman is the anguish-electronics unit responsible for massive murk back in 2014 (this and that). Their rusted oscillations ushered Castle Bravo into existence, who has been surreptitiously distributing bruises via Czern, German Army, and others.

"Alley Walkers" offers more raw skin crawls. The limited excerpts officially leaked to the world wide web suggest extensive servings of spiraling drone and carbonated dankness. Tedious, bummer music for the Negative Nancy in all of us. Need to come down from some good news? Doberman will scratch that itch. Feel like vanishing into the ether for an afternoon, float in the emptiness with some menacing rhythms keeping you company? Check, mate.

Test out an almost 6 minute chunk below. Bookmark Castle Bravo. Be excellent to each other.

Morning stoney jazz awakenings & start the work-day email knock down...
Going through and trying to re-listen to my Indiana want list. Making sure these are things I truly need to file even on a poor boy income.

1st up is Charles Tyler - Eastern Man Alone
Not sure if homeboy was living in Indianapolis at this point or if they just recorded at Feature's studio. '67 on ESP.
Want this thing and I don't think it really pops for much dollars.

What's the story on this thing? Vaguely remember Blastitude reviewing the box years back. Maybe a Dimmagio review or maybe Daniel talked about it on here. Any place to jam any of this online? Is it some weird folky ripper?! Interested...
