huntsville- my main complaint is we only have one half ass decent record store. but i usually mail order anyway
bands rarely come here cause its smack dab in the middle of nashville, birmingham, atlanta, memphis and chattanooga. mostly, bands rather play those cities. and when good bands DO play here, not many locals give a shit till they "know" the band. i.e. seen them several times. but the first time, its hard. people here suck about that. and then band's first impressions is usually bad and they don't make it back that second time. plus, this is also due to lack of good diy venues (i.e. basements do not exist here).
the city is also spreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaa aaad out. not made for walking/biking at all. and the class division is extreme (southern racism still exist in small doses).
other than that, this city rules,... cheap cost of living (housing, food, booze), friendly folks, good foods, clean and scenic, and i mean, its the south. weather is mild, as in, "its not the heat, its the humidity".
thats huntsville.
plus, thomas function lives here, that sucks.
