Josh, you're right on the money, dude.  It was that Nicollet Island/Hennepin Bridge sweet spot for fuck wad cops.  The irony of this whole night is the fact that I convinced Steve to go checkout a Black Flag cover band at First Avenue.  In and out.  Steve sucked a $3.75 Grain Belt(!?) while they belt out "Police Story".  It really blew.  As Steve gagged a bit on the $149 ticket...he quickly turned angry - it was all teeth.  I think the cop pulled him over because of his personalized licence plate: PADDLER.  Totally profiling fanny bashers.  You got no rights in the U.S.A.   And, Troy, just because some people take it up the ass ticket wise doesn't mean their gay for speeding.  Breaking a speedlimit of 30 by going forty on a major bridge in a rivercity deserve a naughty slap from a limp wrist.  But a ticket?  Fuck that.  Naw what I mean?  Pure blatant exploi-$$$-tation for a near bankrupt city...and all of this took place in the shadow of the downtown Federal Reserve...those Washington fucks won't give our recession prone towns a break.  It's enough to make one listen to BF while downing a case of BL...or maybe put on Iggy's "Butt Town" and head down to B.J.'s for the Playboy pinball muh-chine.

That's just it! The idea of constantly obeying inanely slow speed limits drives me so nuts that I dread the thought of driving. Going 30 mph when I can control a car at 40 makes me go insane. I can't stand the feelign of driving slow. I hate driving period, and have for years. That's why I flew into the Blackout! The reason I speed when driving is that I want to get it over with as fast as possible!

I like public transportation - but only trains. Busses are no fun.

You should try a Russian bus. Back in the day at least nobody drove in Russia. People had drivers. Mafia people. There was nowhere to park your car though, so the only people who owned cars were drivers, and that was their work. The family I lived with had a car, but father also spent time in prison. Russian busses though, yeah, there were several times where I'd actually be lifted off the ground because they were so crammed full. If I showed you a picture of the inside of a Russian bus you wouldn't believe it. Fortunately, they were free for us. You were supposed to buy tickets, and they'd have conductors occasionally do walk throughs making sure you stamped your tickets, but running is easy, as is making weird hand gestures and pretending that you're deaf and don't understand.

For the record Steve is quite possibly the worst driver on the face of this state.  He sometimes actually makes a full stop at green lights before taking a right turn.  He mostly drives in the slow lane five miles under the limit.  If anything, that ticket should have been for anything but speeding.  As for flying into a Blackout?  Yeah, he needs to quit drinking and driving.

I personally LOVE driving. I once logged over four thousand miles in less than a week. I used to do it for a living, nefariously. I'm one of the best drivers I know too, as hard as that is for people to believe. I had to be, I was risking prison. I don't feel very comfortable being a passenger with most people.
