Halloween Music
« on: October 12, 2008, 02:19:16 AM »
This thread might have been done before, but I didn't find it via a cursory glance at the search results.

I want to get my Halloween mixtapes / Halloween listening underway. The music from my year-round listening that fulfills the criteria is pretty marginal but both the B52s' first record and Pocahaunted's side of the split with Mythical Beast (above all else, this is awesome Halloween party ambience) spring to mind.

What do other people recommend?

This is blog is great for downloading stuff ? http://www.scarstuff.blogspot.com/

If you can find it, I recommend the cover of "It's Halloween" by Alarmist which was included on their covers cassette that came out on Public Secret Media probably 4-5 years ago.

Weird. I was cleaning out my tapes today and found two sealed copies of this. Didn't know what it was so I tossed em.

Sure, sure... It's a good point though, that as much as I like the Misfits (well, as much as I like 'Static Age') they're pretty representative of the last thing I'd hope for by way of a Halloween recommendation. The horror stylings are all well and good, but it's disproportionate to how much they sound like a fairly straight band, despite the odd 50's pop melody.
