I'm at home drunk honking my own horn, keeping the cats awake and pondering a late trip to the gas station!

I remember the Onion headline when Bush won back in 2000:

"Our long national nightmare of peace and prosperity is finally over"

Let's see what they come up with for next week.

"Bitter conservatives swear 'to move to Argentina or Kazakstan'"

I just dropped Get Mugged off at his dorm at Buff State College. Students practically rioting in the quad. Mayhem. Some black chick ran up to my car and yelled "THERE'S A BLACK PRESIDENT IN THE WHITE HOUSE, YO!!!!"

That was a truly transcendental moment.

I can't wait to talk to a bunch of third graders about this tomorrow.

I was going to type the same thing, Keith.

You guys hear that Green Bay passed the health care referendum? Wisconsin is going to have National Health Care whether the rest of the country does or not.

And Massachusetts decriminalized up to an ounce.  Not that I live there.

Milwaukee passed the Paid Sick Leave referendum.  That includes all workers in the city, both full AND part time.  I'm pretty stoked on that.

Hey, I only live in Milwaukee county (not the city proper), but is that gonna be a real thing, or is it one of those "voter recommended" refs that go nowhere?  Cause' my employer is based in Milwaukee (city... proper...) and I'd love to have those sick days.  Hell, I could use one tomorrow!  I'm drunk as hell and have to wake up all early to go there!  ARggh!

Living here in South Carolina all is quiet now, which is the most beautiful silence I've experienced in a long while because if there were loud bangs and pops of fireworks from celebrations it would have meant four more years of hell.

It's a binding referendum, according to the Journal Sentinel website.
