Disco Zombies
« on: December 19, 2008, 10:27:27 PM »
Won a Disco Zombies - Mary Millington/Here Come The Buts 7" on ebay, got it today and the sleeve looks super xeroxed, like just two peices of white paper. Anyone have a copy onhand to tell me what the sleeve normally looks like? Thanx.

Just checked my copy, purchased from Zed's "old stock sale" back in the 90s so I know it's original, and it's two pieces of paper as well, not flimsy copy paper, but slightly heavier stock. Thick paper. Also slightly oversized.

Same here. Two pieces and oversized. I'm tempted to trim it everytime I pick it up

This is the good Disco Zombies record, right? I played "Drums Over London" when I was at Discourage and thought it sucked.

I think their "Invisible EP" is the strongest record.

I think they are all really good, but if i had to pick the weakest one I'd pick "The Invisible EP".

I sometimes think that "Here Come The Buts" is my favorite of the 3.

What about the D.Z. cassette? Does anyone know anything about it?

I agree with Steve, "Drums Over London" totally sucks. That chorus couldn't be anymore retarded/uncreative.

talk about a flat song that goes NOWHERE. Its frustrating to listen to. Chorus kicks in and after every line you are waiting for some cool change up. But it never comes. Just the same fucking line, in the same tone over and over again. I relate it to pre-locked groove 45s. You know, we want the same sound over and over again for an extended length.

Piss poor. UK has better half-ass efforts than "Drums Over London".

Whatever you say, senor-- but I'm not going to try and convince myself to cease deriving great pleasure from something I like a lot.  You probably don't even like Disclose!
