Guess I can sorta understand not being down with the '70s soft rock thing goin' on, but I think Ariel Pink is fucking good at what he does. Don't really care about the coke-headed hipster fanbase or whatever other superficial things people are taking issue with--he makes some really great jilted pop. Would take his music over Blank Dogs ten times out of ten.
His band is pretty solid nowadays, and lately they've been playing great covers of the Dovers' "She's Gone" and the Human Expression's "Calm Me Down" alongside the new stuff.
