The last couple days:

Bob Seger System - Mongrel LP
This one has eluded me for a long time but now it is mine. What a fucking smoker! Best Bob album I've heard.

Alice Cooper - Goes to Hell LP
Four really good songs, the rest filler. The title track rules this thing. Pre-punk this was my and my best friend Deathrider's personal theme song. We were hated in the neighborhood.

Joe Cuba - My Man Speedy LP
Great at times, always fun. Solid boogaloo album. Only complaint is that the song My Man Speedy isn't twice as long.

Various - Thrash til Death LP
I've heard some of the singles comped here (by Lip Cream, Gauze, Systematic Death, and Outo) but taken as a whole: Fucking shit! I wrecked my studio and went marching into the street with a crowbar and a mohawk.

and

BOC - Cultosaurus Erectus LP
Mentioned this a couple days ago. This record keeps getting better and better. With BOC you can go from the first album to Tyranny & Mutation and then skip til this this one. First side is perfect. Second side is flawed but last song, Unknown Tongue is an early-BOC style ripper. I got this copy used for a couple buck (with original receipt in it - first bought at Stonehenge Records in Muncie, IN in 1980). Pretty easy to find and almost always $5 or less.

The third BOC album, Secret Treaties, should not be skipped in any way.  In my mind it is just as essential as the first two BOC  albums.  I haven't listened to Cultosarus Erectus in ages and I don't even know if I still have a copy.  I'm gonna have to track a copy down and investigate.

I got my album order wrong. Thought Tyranny was the third, but yes you are right Secret Treaties.

NP: Surf Teens - Surf Mania LP
Killer surf instro album with that hollow warm sound retro surf bands in the 90s were trying for but very rarely got.

With BOC you can go from the first album to Tyranny & Mutation and then skip til this this one.

But that would live Secret Treaties out. To be honest I find your reccomendation intriguing as I haven't dared to go that
far with BOC. WIll pick it up tomorrow.

I have been relistening to This Heat - "Deceit" and it is quite a masterpiece, definitely best listened sitting down and in a proper living room or something (the way recs sound be heard) than walking.  "Paper Hats" and "Shrink Wrap" are insane!  All done analog too, crazy...

Via "Shit in the Garden": I'm so excited for this to come out, interested in what people will say.  I listen to it often and really love it, think it is a great leap from Cleaning the Mirror.  Very different but in a good way, super heavy.

Also listening to Nicolas Jaar - "Time for Us" and "Space is Only Noise" - wnkrs got me on that electronic hype, excited/hope I get to see him DJ in Chicago in March!

So far during my snow day...

Love - Forever changes : a classic. I know some people think De Capo is better, but FC is always my favorite. Haunting, beautiful, and heavy at the same time.

ELO - light-bulb record - Love the pop songs. The instrumental I sometimes wish had vocals. No a very good review I know, but that's what I thought while listening to it this morning.

Lost Sounds - Lost Sounds. This one has almost aged the best of their stuff. Exception maybe being Rat Brains and Microchips. I get Nervous should go in the repetition thread. Clean, loud recording. Great songs. Nice mix of Jay/Alicja songs.

X (AUS) - Aspirations A record that gets better with every listen.

Drugs Dragons -S/T - Downloaded this. Like i a lot more than I thought I would. So much better than Night Terrors. Really want to see these guys live now. Great guitar riffs and swagger by sagger. Love the vocals. Demented and nasty. Kind of reminds me of the Wiccans vocals, except maybe more effects produced than natural? Maybe not. Me like either way.

I think I agree with you, I was a bigger Da Capo fan at first but I think Forever Changes definitely has better songs...I think FC could have been a little more edited but the highs on FC are very high.  You can tell they definitely stepped the songwriting/arrangement up tenfold.

Which of the Alice Cooper solo LP's are worth picking up? I've only got the 'band' LP's, seen a bunch of the solo ones selling cheap, etc, etc.
