I'm hoping there will be a regular black edition coming soon, and those colored ones were just for their "club members". I think that's how it went with the Nobunny 12".
Oh cool, I hope that's the case. Do these releases (regular editions) end up in distros that normal people use or just ebay stores? Any good releases on the label?
Edit: Just looked at the Third Man website which mentions black vinyl edition forthcoming. Glad that is the case. Cool that the limited version is for locals who supported the bands on tour, etc.
I can appreciate that fact as well somewhat, I guess. I don't think they're just sold at the gig though, if you join their record club (called "The Vault") you get copies of the limited versions too, which explains the straight to eBay copies.
I dont think theres anything of note on the label aside from the Jon Wayne reissue. Or maybe the first couple White Stripes records they're repressing, which are actually decent...
Hey Rich,
Allow me to correct some things...split-colored copies of the record are ONLY available to folks who attended the show and pre-purchased the LP (aside from the handful of copies we supplied the band with). No one in the record club (the Vault) gets copies on split-color...at least through us. The Vault subscription records are the only thing those people get with their subscription. We actually do a fair amount of limited things that have nothing to do with the Vault.
When folks come to pick up their copy of the the split-colored live LP's we seal the opening with a sticker and write their name on it. The process doesn't eliminate folks from reselling them, but it certainly makes it a little more awkward.
Black vinyl copies of Tvyek will be available on our website starting in the new year. These copies are not limited. They are already available in our storefront in Nashville and (probably) at Tyvek's merch table.
On top of the Jon Wayne record and the Nobunny live set, I think the 5.6.7.8's reissue we did would also be of interest to some folks on here. And yes, those first three White Stripes records are pretty good too.
