FRATRICIDE Unreleased Pusmort 12"
Vancouver's Fratricide were one of the original crossover bands, playing a volatile mix of high-speed hardcore and crunching thrashmetal inspired by the likes of Poison Idea, The Accused, Slayer, Attitude Adjustment and DRI.  They entered the studio in 1987 to record a split LP with Dutch thrashers Neuroot, slated for release by Pushead's highly-esteemed Pusmort label, a record which reached test pressing stage but was never released.  Twenty years later, Ugly Pop finally presents the legitimate release of Fratricide's tracks as one 12" EP of killer metallic hardcore. We eventually just designed the covers ourselves, and finally received the remainder of the artwork a couple of months back.  Bands....

dont know if you coined these phrases, but "logical enthusiasm" and "ikea punk" are two new gold standards of comparative analysis.

Was thinking more along the lines of "bands" whose idea of songwriting is shitting out a half-baked idea for part of a verse on a laptop and calling it a finished song instead of poking/prodding/pummeling at the thing 'til it becomes a facet of an actual tune.  But yours works, too.
