Bags 45 is fucking BORING. As are the songs in the Decline. Alice Bag's voice sounds like a rabid dog that needs to be put out of its misery. Stiv sounds like a rabid dog that's gonna bite your face off. Big difference.

The Bags are great.  What's wrong with you people?

We're heterosexual males. You probably like Bikini Kill.

In terms of it being "nice" that Collin's anti-punk or whatever the statement, no it's not "nice." The world is filled with genre queers, what I want (in terms of advice/reviews) is someone who likes good music across genres. I'm not going to sit around all day listening to "just" anything. These people are helpful in that they dredge and dig to the very bottom of the barrel, and while most of the stuff dug up is in fact the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality, they're able to hit gold that no one else would have taken the time to find (hence some great compilations / leading to cool reissues). What's "nice" about Collin is that he's a good sport when people give him shit and seems like a nice guy. And I'll bet there are a buncha of cool records at his house that I've never heard of.

Steve's taste is different from Collin's and completely illogical / all over the board. But Steve's a good shit. If he liked the Brainbombs we might consider making him a Knight of the Rock Table, but that seems unlikely. I'll have to talk to RFA about that one.

RFA once told me that he was going to make me a Knight of the Rock Table, but I guess I didn't pass the review process. Yes, it's true dudes, I've never owned a Brainbombs LP and hopefully never will. I am considering soliciting opinions as to what the best Black Sabbath LP is an buying it though. There's a Troggs tune that the dude who produced Black Sabbath produced, and it's got me wanting to give BS a try even though Ozzy is the singer.

As for what you're saying about Collin, I agree that his reviews aren't really that useful as a buyer's guide because he gushes over great stuff and total shit with the same unreserved abandon. However, his contrarian tastes always make for good message board argument fodder.

I once met an old hippie in Olympia, dragging a box of records from his buddy's car.  He told me everything in there was .50 cents and that he was down on his luck.  Immediately forthwith, buddy of mine walked away with seven Chicago records while I picked up a sizable chunk of the early Savoy Brown catalogue.  And that's basically my mantra:  'you never know!'

...unless it's weird punk, then it's NEVER!  NO!!!!

Steve -  my advice is for you to pick up Masters of Reality. It is the most riff heavy in a pop sense of any of their records (though one could argue Paranoid also is, but you have probably heard the hits on that one too many times). i think any of their records from the first to sabotage are good, but Vol 4 is a fans record (though excellent) and Sabotage and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath have some klunkers on them. anyway, if you dont get past Masters... nothing Sabbath has done will resonate with you. And feel free to pick up the needle when you come to Sweet Leaf, if you are burned out on that song.

I ordered a MOTO 7" from Reckless online about 3 years ago, and it had the wrong 7" inside...a one-sided Cheater Slicks 7" that was only handed out an anniversary show.

SCORE.

not as cheap as most of you cheapwads, but this seems like a good price for one of the best Bay Area punk 45s EVAR

Here's a good NYC "Powerpunk" 4-song 12" EP, Punk-n-Roll/Powerpop gear. Not usually very expensive, but every copy I've come across is in beat to thrashed condition. This one's sealed with a sticker:
