Man, I was resisting this band for so long.  I went to see them a while back at Monster Island and it was pretty boring.

But right now I am so unbelievably obsessed with "Lust For Life", I feel like Kevin's desconstruction of it was perfect, it's just so catchy and moving in this really simple, satisfying way... yearning for really simple things in a way that seems so deep...

Anyway, I had heard that the dude had a "good story", but I'm just reading it now and it's insane:

Even though it's more severe it kind of reminds me of some of the stuff Kevin has shared with us, just about the crazy places he's lived and being an outsider and stuff.  I don't see how anyone coming from a background like this could NOT be creating things.

"lust for life" has a decent catchy tune behind it, if a band who weren't pussies and didn't make pussy music played it I would probably be into it

Ferocious X should cover it, shit would probably rule

I finally listened to the rest of "Album" (OMG WHAT A CLEVER NAME FOR YOUR RECORD) and it as boring as I expected.  Oh well.  "Lust For Life" will just have to live in a beautiful vacuum.

This band is great.  At first I, like a bunch of people who have posted, just dug "Lust for Life," but the lyrics in "Ghost Mouth" got me after a few listens and the rest of the album clicked shortly thereafter.

Why does this one song get a pass for some reason? Its not that different from the rest of the album. I mean, its not like its SOOOOO goddamn different, like its "BLITZKREIG BOP" on an album full of Elvis Costello tunes or some shit. Its basically of the same general sound, in fact, I think there are better songs on the album.

I still think that this record is good, and that the band is good. I like them. And they still don't need any help from Terminal Boredom in being the biggest band of the year, outside of A nimal C ollective. Dudes are making Sonic Youth look positively minor league over at the Matador camp, I'm sure.
