Always nice to me. He and Alix put out the 1st Black and Whites 7", which I was really grateful for. My Reatard story that I always told involved after a show in Memphis in 2002 at someone's house where Jay discovered I was on mushrooms and was fucking with me dressed in a full body horse costume. Sitting on porch with wine, smokes and ipod alternating between "All Wasted" and "No Time." Wish I could blare older shit on the turntable, but my babies are sleeping. Take Care Man. R.I.P.

i drove from st. louis to memphis just to see the final solutions one day cuz i was bored and because i loved that band. talked to jay for a little bit after the show which was the only conversation i ever had with him. he told me i was stupid in a way that was endearing.

First saw the Reatards @ Gibson's after "Grown Up, Fucked Up" came out. Meghan from Empty had pics of him from the Stinky's Peep Show just days before, when he drank the ass wine. The show resulted in the infamous "Reatard Vs. Retard" fight and I have a scar on my wrist from the bass drum being thrown at me... Hands down one of THEE BEST SHOWS EVER.

Saw him almost a dozen times after that and loved every show except for the last one, w/ The Oh Sees, which was too fast... and I never thought I'd say that.

I remember Vas telling me after the Reatards reunion show about how Jay had a solo album in the works and that the demos Vas had heard blew everything else off the map. When Blood Visions came out, that shit didn't leave my turn table for months.
