I can?t think of any bands that interest me lately. I don?t know? It seems like everything that comes out now is either hipster garage bullshit or lo-fi or trash just for the sake of being lo-fi.

This might not be appropriate in a thread where so many real life friends of his are posting their memories, but I downloaded "Bedroom Disasters" after selling it years ago and listened to it on the plane to Tokyo/train ride to Kichijoji last night and damn, Jay could write a really fucking great punk song.

Fuck I was suppose to go on that tour. I remember rob called me up..."dude we just kicked that muthafuckin half nig outta the band man....we got fucking jimmy blitzkrieg now man." Who?. "Jimmy dude, jay muthafuckin reatard. Shits gonna be badass like a...mothhhhherfuckerrr"

Jay said outta all the tours he did that 2 weeks was the most shattrd shit ever

One of my bigger show disappointments was Evil Army not making the Buffalo date because they were too wrecked to leave Cleveland (or wherever they were the night before). I think Rob Evil called Dave to apologize the next day.

i wish there was an audio recording of the funeral.  they had a preacher speak who had never met jay.  i was sitting there holding back laughter because all i could think about is how much jay would be making fun of him.  sunday is a blur....god that whole week is a blur....the only thing i can remember right now is when he told us that stephen had been telling him about jay's guitars....the "12 string accoustical" and the flying v which was easy for him to remember because he loves flying j's....he said stephen told him they would duel.  i wish they would have played the lady in the radiator song that lindsay recorded with him....that probably would have made me cry even more though....

i can't wait for everyone to see where he's buried.  it's so beautiful!  we were all so shocked by the fact isaac hayes was right next to him.  apparently the cemetery offered his family the spot.  jay's sister promised to get him a marker that's even bigger and more amazing.  right across the road there is this insane psychedelic grotto and a big fountain.  the day of the visitation it was so stormy and nasty outside, but when we buried him it was beautiful and warm.

i've never been so heartbroken about losing a friend....

to answer people's concern about the police....they were there because jeff called 911 when he couldn't wake him up.  they found nothing incriminating in the house.  i can confirm that nobody did this to jay, and i can also confirm that he didn't want to die.  he had a lot of stuff planned.  my brother is hoping to help him out with some of it.

Not sure if anybody video taped it or not.  I've re-read Stephen's tribute, but reading it can't match his delivery.  In a way, though, I'm glad if none of this weekend got recorded (Taper Joe was at the show Saturday night, but I never asked if he was recording).  And, I ain't trying to be a jerk about the preacher.  It was good he was there for the family.  But it was pretty funny watching him try to get past saying the first "Reatard" on the podium.
