Toms Diner (Really kind of the best. Tough to top it.)


Indeed a cut above. I actually didn't know it was still around. I always liked that they served coffee while you stood outside. I also drank a Cherry-lime Ricky there once, so that was cool.

i always make the distinction between diner and coffee shop even though theres really no difference besides the building.  i have no idea why.  i would say queens has better actual diners than brooklyn including the original jackson hole where my father used to play sex machine and sexual healing back to back on the jukebox every time.

When I lived in Long Island City it was all about the Court Square Diner.  Depending on what you order the food ranged from ok to great and the 24-hour delivery (with no delivery minimum) was awesome.  And they'd get it to me in like 5 minutes.   So if say, I wanted a chocolate milkshake and a slice of apple pie at 4 am.... voila! there it was!
