Sounds like I'm gonna be making this trek as well. I had some pretty killer Mexican food the last time I was in Milwaukee and would totally be down with repeating that.

Man, I wish I could remember the name of the place we went last time, but it was so long ago. It had really good margaritas.

Got food poisoning at GTO's last weekend.  Ay carumba!

Go to Jake's Deli or pizza and Lisa's or Mama DiMarini's (KILLER SAUSAGE).    Much more to MKE than Sobelman's.

Or if your up on a Friday, hit up the all-you-can-eat fish fry at the Serb Hall.  Crazy good.

i think teenagegurls moved. i dont know how i know this since i dont even know who he is

trying to smoke some nutmeg. get meg'd

Yeah, I'm out, at least for now.  Probably making a return in the summer.  TENSE MOMENTS.

I was a semi-recluse on the south side of town anyway - I lived here for two years before I even met Dickknee.

Well, I didn't move to town until a year and a half ago, so I wasn't here during most of it!

What's weird about GTO's, which is right by my house, is that I've eaten there dozens of times (food's always been great) and never had a negative reaction, but now that it's suddenly kinda busy and "hip" the 2 dudes + family have more administrative roles or something and food during the weekend rush hasn't been as good, with a buncha newbies running the joint...and the last time I went there I felt like shit the rest of the day. It was consistently awesome when the owners were taking orders & cooking, never had a bad meal. But now, I'm staying away from weekends. It could be a coincidence, I dunno. But this was one of my favorite spots in town and now I've had mediocre food & service the last few times I've been there.

Italian beef at Martino's, Sandwiches at Sandcastle & Jake's Deli, burgers at Sobleman's, amazing Serbian food at 3 Brother's (if you want to spend a little jing), etc. Lots of good food, depends on what you're looking for. Numerous Mexi spots on the south side. In my opinion, the pizza here is below par. Lots of decent pies, nothing amazing.

Lakefront tour is much recommended, but you will need strong will/constitution to make it through the eve if you start the day with it.

I wish we could just beam Jake's Pizza here from GB. It's the fucking best. Oh well. Pizza Man was pretty good, why couldn't Shuttle or Pepi's have burned down in its place?

i never even got to try pizza man before its untimely demise. i just remember when my drummer was out here on tour when we still lived out east he had some from there and said it wasnt that good. turns out he was talking about old leftovers.... doh. pizza shuttle at like 2-3am is fucking surreal thats for sure.  i heard abu's on farwell has some decent pizza, 16" for 10 bucks aint bad, i wouldnt mind paying that to see if its true, its nothing

Classic Slice is pretty wack/over-rated too in my opinion.

And I don't care how many of your roommates work there, Riverwest!

Lisa's is on Oakland, just north of Locust.

I haven't been there yet but I've heard nothing but good things.

I've been getting some really great whole pizzas from Classic Slice lately.
