I call this a cop out. A disgrace. I haven't even listened to either album and hate his music, but I think all the real Pufjan fans ought to be up in arms about this and DEMAND he complete the project, or boycott his remaining output.

I liked the Illinois one, on the real.  did NOT like the Illinois outtakes one.  or his 5xCD christmas box-set.  or literally anything else he's ever done (inc. breathing).

Don't you hate being lied to      BY HIPPIES

One of the greatest crimes of the economic downturn was that paste magazine got a bailout as they were on the verge of going belly up. Too shitty to fail indeed.

This is worse than when someone started a thread praising anus collective.

Aaron, I know you're really bummed that you won't get 48 new Sufjan albums, but please don't take your anger out on us.

You just can't buy credibility like that!! (Especially not on his income.)

In other news, Pufjan now blames downloading on the death of the album format. Hark to him:

I'm wondering, why do people make albums anymore when we just download? Why are songs like three or four minutes, and why are records 40 minutes long? They're based on the record, vinyl, the CD, and these forms are antiquated now. So can?t an album be eternity, or can't it be five minutes? I no longer really have faith in the album anymore. I no longer have faith in the song.

Poor Pufjans and his shattered dreams. :(

Although I guess on the bright side, doing the remaining 48 albums would be a lot easier if they all only had to be five minutes long.
