if you mean 'tasteful', mass-apprecitated music, I fear that it will be fleet foxes or wilco, or more likely radiohead unfortunately. but if you mean bands that make at least one  solid album every year for ten years, that's wide open. We've got plenty of prolificacy, but real, sustained quality? Hmmm. I would like it to be home blitz or so cow. Wait, I have already put too much time into this question. This is dumb.

We're still working on a second Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Who's that gonna be?

this is confusing me. do you mean this like if these bands disbanded they could become "what the beatles became in the 70s" of the 2010s?

The Beatles, although on projectors, Gorillaz style. They will all look like they did in 1968.

Thee Oh Sees--would be great. I like how they are always, always writing new songs. No matter what happens, I hope their winning streak continues. But will they have much popular recognition? No.

Jay Reatard is the John Lennon of 2010 so I guess that would have to make it the Reatards......nah thats too obvious. I would say the Beatles are the Beatles of 2010.

So...He was only good when he had a band with a bullshit detector in it?
