what about real fake punk
like basically the entire roster of FAT WRECK or Epitaph or something

i wouldn't call that stuff fake punk...more just in a league of it's own. warped tour punk maybe. on second thought, most of that shit is pretty fake...mass marketed for the rebelious teenager to gobble up and piss off their parents. i just feel inclined to stand up for nofx because at one point they were real punks i think, i mean, they were a band back in the 80s and stuff and they did put out a record on mystic, a reputable 80's punk label. everything up to pump up the valuum is solid in my opinion, by i have a weak spot for that band because they are one of the first "punk" bands i ever heard. punk in drublic was the first actual punk cd i ever owned i think.

They played their first gig at the Cathay de Grande on equipment borrowed from Justice League (PVHC! Think or Sink!)- that's at least worth a few punk points...Around 1986, I ran into one of them once outside a 7-11 and he asked us to buy him some beer. We had just come from seeing Motorhead so we got to talking and he invited us to watch them practice and took us to their practice space at some big house in the middle of Beverly Hills. Somebody couldn't make practice or something though so I didn't get to see it...

Adam Ant and Billy Idol were members of The Bromley Contigent.

Early Gen X and Adam and The Ants rules.

If they're fake punk, well, then most of you are too.

Sniveling Shits are kinda fake punk, but they rule too.

"Food Fight", "Pain", etc. also rule.  Sucktitude isn't really the point.  In fact, the reason I started this thread is because I was marvelling over how good this shit actually is.

Or how stupid punks are.

I know what you're saying, I'm just saying that those guys were there at the beginning of classic UK punk and also made some kick ass music, but whatever.

Weren't Helen Keller basically just a studio thing?

all i said was that they used to be! they weren't always the way they are now, as the first few records show. now they are total rockstars, but i still like some of their stuff. i'm allowed to have shitty taste if i want!!!
