Is this anywhere near Baileys Harbor (Door County)? I'll be up there in the next couple of months. I plan on doing some local travel/sightseeing.

It's probably a good 90 miles or so away...  I can't say it's worth the drive.  Slab City is just the area south of the town of Bonduel south of Highway 29. Just a coupla houses and such.  And a bar with a morgue/graveyard/coffin motif.  Perhaps it is worth the drive.  Pass through there if I take a certain way "up north."  I remember they have 50 cent taps of something or another, so it might all balance out...

My friend lives in Slab City across the street from the Morgue. I don't think there is really any more than two other houses in that "city".

I could swear there were maybe 4 houses, but I could be wrong...

The drive between Slab City and Black Creek (a bit south of Slab City on Highway 47) is full of interesting rural Wisconsin scenery. There's something "not right" about that area.  But I like it...

I grew up in Door County and the folks still live there. BH is on the lake side, it's ok. More fun on the Bay side. Or at the Bayside. Hope you like rich vacationing assholes!

Hmmm, they say Milwaukee is highest bars per capita in the nation, but obviously, Slab City wins.

what about algoma, wisconsin, a legit "city" (city government and everything) of about 3,300 people. it's like a miniature milwaukee in one way only. it seems like you can't go 4 blocks before you hit a bar. anyone got an official bar-count for algoma? casey, josh? i know you guys are out there somewhere, and you've probably got the data for some reason.

it's all bullshit, and it's bad for ya.

LaCrosse supposedly has the highest per capita in the state. Maybe that's why those college kids keep drunkenly falling into the river and drowning.  I know Manitowoc has a high per capita, too.  Cudahy in the Milwaukee area has a lot, too. I'm sure these things can be hard to measure. Wisconsin certainly rules the roost, though.

4 blocks seems like a lot of space without a bar

That chart rules! LaCrosse has the most bars in a certain area or something...most in the world. They used to have riots during Octoberfest and the Coon Creek festivals every year. I saw my buddies on CNN turning over a cop car and lighting it on fire (I last-second opted to go drop acid out in the sticks near some communes and had my only bad trip, still probably the right decision). Only one of them got caught, though.
