if there is already a thread on this point me in the right direction, but i searched and didn't see one. i haven't been tattooed since i moved to california like 3 years ago and i'm really getting the itch. does anyone know any decent CHEAP tattoo shops in the bay area? i looked on yelp, but all the reviews were from people who just got their first tattoo so they are kind of clueless. I'm really looking to find someone who does decent and yes fair priced tattoos around here that I can start going to. From what i've seen its really fucking expensive out here, someone help me out if you can...

If nobody gets you an answer today, I'll ask my wife when I get back home after work, she tattooed there until she moved to Paris 7 years ago. She may have an idea.

cheap and good tattoos don't usually go hand in hand.

i like stay true tattoo in dublin lately.

east bay area. out of the way but only 45 mins from SF, not a bunch of dicks, and some great work quietly coming out of the shop. See Ryan the owner, Dave Gibson or Nate.

Sorry, I haven't heard about any good cheap places. But I know that people travel and make appointments way in advance to get tattooed at Black Heart on Valencia Street. If you decided to spend some extra cash, that place is supposed to be really good.

thanks for all the info. Sorry I guess when I mean cheap, I mean reasonable. Some of these places charge like 150-200 an hour! My place back in baltimore was like 40 an hour and it was great!!!

Pretty much my wife's answer too. She said that guy you mentioned Dave Gibson is very good.

dave is certainly a ruler, but he's a cranky old bastard and now i think retired, again...

Nate Abbott or Ryan Greobler will do anyone solid as well.
