One of the worst bands I,ve ever seen. Smug and uberpretentious. Constantly reprimanding the sceptical audience that we "didnt get" their precious art.

people a lot cooler than me dropped the name of this band into conversation a lot, i don't know if they ever bought their music, but heard some of their singles and it was good.. pop group type things.

I ordered their first two albums at some point because of descriptions and recommendations and was entirely disappointed.  Listened to them a total of 2 times each.  I hear these albums are now worth some money (I think they were self-released or something... I know I ordered em' right from the band at the time), so if anybody wants to send me a good amount of dollars for these records, I'd gladly part with them.

Only really good when they had a bassist, though there were some highlights afterwards.

The first half of the singles collection and the first album are fucking genius.

Fuckin Joe Domino and that neoteric Shawn dude convinced me these guys were worthy of my attention. They weren't. I think Joe's label put some of their shit out or something....along with a comp of the best Piranhas material. Huh?

Fake Arab On Radar / Oxes split is pretty much the only thing I remember about that band: http://www.fakejazz.com/reviews/2001/oxes4.shtml

Some people got really uptight about that one.  I wonder if anyone has done that recently.
