FUCKED UP's first release for Jade Tree is cloaked in shades of unconventional

Hidden World, the band's first full length studio album, marks a turning point
for the mysterious Toronto band, transcending the boundaries of punk with
melody, aggression, expansive structures and enigmatic diatribes on what lies
underneath the immediate, visualized world. FUCKED UP combine confrontational
ideologies with deliberate misinformation to produce a brutal analysis on

New version of "baiting the public" is SICK

Anyone complaining about generic hardcore needs to hear this.  Not sure if they succeed or fail, but they certainly have done something original here.

The full length is a good listen.  I did find myself liking the stuff I already knew a bit more than the stuff I didn't, especially the uninterrupted version of Baiting the Public.  David Comes to Life is really good, Jacob's Ladder is sweet, and Hidden World's whistling beats the whistling in Looking for Gold, but they did change something in Invisible Leader where the guitars sounded good into something where the guitars are all out of key and wacky sounding.  A personal bummer, but what does that matter to anybody else?

The Hidden World release shows are in Toronto on October 27, 28, 29. Lots of bands are playing, some insane shit. Come down and stay for 3 days. There might be a 4th show added. There will be free after party shows every night.
The Year of the Dog 12" will be out for these shows
We're also pressing two singles limited to 500 that you can only get at these shows. One is 2 DOLLY MIXTURE covers and the other is 2 SHOP ASSISTANTS covers. Versions with Damian singing and versions with Manno from the Dangerloves singing.
The second volume of the mixtape will be ready for these shows as well.

We are playing CMJ in NYC Nov 4, one Jade Tree showcase and one wierd show with Blue Cheer and An Albatross and Man Man and shit like that. We're doing a short tour around then also, like Philly, Chicago, Pittsburgh, etc. Get in touch.
