No, the Dot Dash line-up is incredibly uninspiring even tho I like most of the bands. Hell, I think I'm gonna go back to Cleave at the end of this month, and in two days you've got a better line-up: Rocket From The Tombs ballroom plus Gris Gris and Awesome Color in taver, then Mission of Burma w/ Times New Viking at Grog the next day. But I'm a sweater-rocker!!! (Not really, they itch).

I was wondering the same thing.  Its like Jade Tree has to present punk rock with an asterix next to it saying "don't worry, this is safe enough for you Dismemberment Plan fans to like" when really it's got about as much in common with that kind of shit as Britney Spears.

In spite of some filler to pad out the length of the songs, this is a pretty great record.  Solid songs throughout.  "The Two Snakes" and "Hidden World" are pretty incredible.

they were selling them on their uk tour... they gave me one, its definitely on the gay side... maybe i should sell it on ebay for 100 bucks along with my copy of the totally overrated "looking for gold" 12 inch! i've heard a couple of the new songs and they're better than the "triumph of life" single... three of those guys are old friends and I'm happy for their success, even if some of their recent shit has been a bit dubious.

There's some cool guitar shit going on, but how can anyone listen to that monotone gruff-voiced singer for an hour? Plus, it's pretentious as hell to act like you're "redefining" something that is barely defined. But I'm an indie-rocker, so whadda I know? Thank god Negative Trend is within reach......
