Almost as good/necessary/important as Wrangler Brutes.

Neither of these bands are important.

The Wrangler Brutes fucking destroy this shit. That's hardcore. Sarcastic blazing powerful shit served up quick fast and in a hurry played by pros who've have done it and been there. Oh, a violin at the end of a 6 minute "hardcore" song? Crazings!

I agree, it's strange that one of the best hardcore records of the new millenium came out on Kill Rock Stars, but you gotta swallow you're pride. Then again, I am gay for Sam McPheeters, The Last Great Punk Singer.

The only thing vaguely interesting about the Fucked Up record is the sorta classic punk melodies they bury in all the boring extended song structures. It's still just this side of normal rock though.

I just listened again, and I think I'm going to say it: This album is a contrived piece of shit.  Seriously.  The songs are too long and don't go anywhere.  Period.

and that record on Kill Rock Stars isn't even particularly good compared to the tape/double 8".

I think the WB LP edges out the tape, actually, but both rule, as does the 7". Plus, they broke up quick fast etc., which is nice in this world of "I think we've got another good one in us, guys" bands.

But this thread is not about the Wrangler Brutes, so I'll shut up, and people can go back to praising false idols.

"So is the FU lp better than their 7"s?"

Thats a loaded question.  Their 7s are great, so is the LP - yet the LP is triumphant in a different way.  I recommend listening to all of their recordings.

got my photobucket open on another browser so better hiff a picture in here.

Prince William reading a map.

Bloody good show.

The FU album reminds me of Defiance's No Future No Hope LP. The guitar lines have alot of similarities along with the epic street punk/hardcore structure to the songs. Personally, I like the singles more, the production on the album is a little too thick for me, but there are some high points to it. I know Josh is very fond of the album.

For me stuff like Baiting the Public, Police, and Circling the Drain are the best things they've done.
