the birthday party vs. the jesus lizard

I over heard a very heated debate at the record store the other day.

These guys were arguing everything from who has (and has had) more influence on other groups, the better front man, recording quality of the records, bass parts, guitar tones, lyrics. etc etc

Aside from the fact that the party pre-dates Yow and the Lizard (and Scratch Acid), and the concept is an apples and oranges conversation, what does that mean? "better", I thought it might make an interesting thread.

I don't consider myself an expert on either group

here we go

Well David Yow never went adult contemporary, so +1 for the Jesus Lizard.

You were wrong, plus the overhearing the "heated debate" in the record store is made up. Admit it.

Black Flag vs. The Wipers ??

The Sonics vs. Black Sabbath ??

X-Ray Spex vs. The Catholic Boys ??

All REAL music debates end up in the two lads wrassling it out...Roman-Greco style...
