This is ridiculous.  DI isn't even gum on the Adolescents' shoe.

I never understood how anyone could like D.I. What a terrible band, "Pervert Nurse", it's like, gimme a fuckin break. That shit sucks. Even "Guns" isn't a good song if you actually put it next to a good song.

Casey Royer doesn't sing so much as talk the lyrics. Effortless in a bad way. Trying to be cool. Lyrics written at a 2nd grade level with a rhyming dictionary. And the band backing him up's not much better. Early Vandals versus D.I. might be a more worthy debate.

Even that debate might be more winnable by the early Vandals, by a longshot.  I like every song on "Peace Thru Vandalism".   The only song that I can recall liking by D.I. is "Guns".  That was about 10 years ago.  I tried to revisit that whole EP not long ago and it just didn't do it for me anymore.
Ya'll are brutalizing me.

Even the Adolescents' version of "Richard Hung Himself" is way better.

Just bought a vinyl reissue of the blue album yesterday to replace the one an old room mate scratched all to hell a while back while drunk.  Still gets my toes tapping.

Timeless.

First Adolescents LP is classic, and the Rikk Agnew solo album is pretty great as well.

I liked DI back in the 80's, but I just listened to 'em for the first time in quite awhile the other day and realized that they are in fact pretty awful................... ..

sure, adolescents are better - but DI have some cool shit!  some of the stuff on "team goon" has a cool gothy feel....and they have a handful of good songs at the very least at the next couple records.
