I don't drink coffee, but my coffee-loving friend who's been working in coffee shops since she was 16 likes Barriques, for whatever that's worth.  She also works at Mother Fool's.

Is In the Company of Thieves the one where the guy sells records there on the weekends?  I live 4 blocks away but have never been there, I should check it out some time.

I'm drinking sugary things (because i'm all about the foo foo).. so i went to the starbucks (it's close and i needed caffine and sugar)

Had lunch at the Green Lantern in McFarland (nice lake view, good reuben.. cheap food! 1.95 for a grilled cheese..  decent beer cheese soup)

Drove to Milwaukee to pick up Dave from the airport, and then drove right back to Madison in the mustang (HELLO MIDLIFE CRISIS!)

Hung out at the park on my mom's block this evening (right on Lake Monona.. about the size of a small lot, but there's a swingset facing the lake. I love that park).. and on the walk back we came across this dude with his garage door open and obvious 'leftovers from a garage sale' inside.  We dug through for a bit, got eaten by mosquitos, and then went to the Glass Nickel for dinner.

HAVE NOT EATEN CHEESE CURDS YET.

FUCK.

Yeah, each time I come back to hang out I kinda wish i had been 21 when I lived here.. prob would have had a different perspective on the city.
I <3 taverns.. Oh, and convenience stores with obvious kitchens (with deep fryers) in the back (like the one I stopped at approx 20 miles from Milwaukee).. Delafield? (forgot already)

Miranda -- I think that is In the Company of Thieves... I haven't actually seen the dude selling records there (I've seen one on Willy St) but I think I have heard about that...

Re: Glass Nickel -- You was practically on mah block. I don't know how often they have basement shows there but I've seen some good 'uns, topped by a Sword Heaven / 16 Bitch Pileup set where the Sword Heaven drummonster brought his wardrum upstairs mid-set for the enjoyment of all patrons present.

I believe the dude who booked there (GN) dropped off the face of the earth. I think his name was Andy.

True!  He and about 3 other people, I think.  Ha.  Bands played there pretty frequently a couple years ago.

Any chance of you getting back to MKE while you & Da Lord are still here?  So close, and yet so far!!

Sorry Dudes.. i was with limited internet while in Madison, and this was a familycentric vacation, so no time for side trips back to MKE (although if you hijack the badger bus out of MSN in a few minutes you could harass Da Lord. He's headed to the MKE airport on it

And goddamn:

I like the isle that's dedicated to different types of jerkey. Next time I'm bringing an extra suitcase and filling it with PM's. (processed meats)
