Eat a bunch of good food and drink a shitload of soju.

See the band Guk-do if you have a chance.

I've spoken with two people that have visited Seoul.  Neither of them had anything good to say.  I was kinda shocked to find this out.  Always seemed like a cool place to me.  I've read that places called "barbershops" or likely to be whorehouses or message parlors.

Seoul is a cool city, though I could see people not liking it.

Here is a list of shows

There is a facebook page for Korean punk, that should have some info too.

Hongdae is cool even if you aren't going to see a show there. Hang out and drink in the park.

I'm interested in these "barbershops", but not interested in going there.

Thanks for the links!

I only spent a few days in Seoul.  I got drunk on Hite Max, soju and some kind of delicious rice wine.  Went to some giant market that went on for blocks.
I was in Busan more, but it was for a wedding, so I didn't get to see a whole lot.  I found one music store there and all they sold were Top 40 Korean cds.  I gave them some of my bands' cds and they were crazy excited because they were in English.

I live not too far from Seoul.

The punk scene is centred around Hongdae. There are some good record (as in vinyl) shops in Mapo and quite a few in Hoehyeon Underground Shopping Arcade, the next subway stop on from Myeong-dong.
