My plan for NYE is to work, triple time! $75+/hr I'm all over that like a bum on a bologna sandwich! I'd love to see ya guys again, great show always. I think the problem is they are too much alike. Give eachother a reacharound and be done with it. I think it escalated when the Tantrums asked me to sing at a gig but didn't want Officer Brad to come up and drum. He was real offended by that. You'll have to come up, my new group with the moniker of The Trumpeting Sphincters may be ready to rock by then.

yeah I think my reaction pissed shimon off. I was drunk and didn't give a shit about it by the next day.  Any feud between us exists in his head only, I don't have a problem with him.

I really see no issue with doing songs from the 60's. I love BFTG and Nuggets shit. That's what my new band is doing as well as old hardcore type shit. LSOK chose to play some of the same songs the Tantrums covered so you couldn't have been too sick of it.

the big influence was I learned how to play guitar watching him years before joining the tantrums.  As far as originals, early lsok did 2 of his for every tantrums cover.  Off the top of my head great nigel originals were saturday evening girl, baby, hole in the matress, she's just a girl, I I i , holding my hand, my little girl, I'm young, etc
from 93 to 94 we wat@hed thee insects live vidoes every day and saw them live, we liked the one tantrums song on that bitty comp but it wasn't until 95 that I finally ran into you turds.

also I played all the early lsok gigs using his half stack, until we moved to florida right before new years 96...

if I thought it was the better band obviously I would have stayed here rather than move to florida.

in fall of 1993 I got a video of thee insects.  At that time, they were playing locally almost weekly and me and rj would always go see them play.  They even played at my 16th birthday party.  We first heard the tantrums in 1995 on bittys power ground video, one song.  We loved that song and played it endlessly, but we never saw the band or heard anything else of it until I joined the band.  You guys certainly influenced us as far as music we listened to, but nigel was way more of an influence on learning how to play our instruments and stage presence, by the time I joined the tantrums I had been playing guitar and drums for over 5 years, my style was pretty tight, it was a knowledge of cool music that was lacking.  I was already well aware of link wray, surf, nuggets, uk and new york punk etc.  What you guys did was open our eyes to amazing shit like back from the grave and killed by death.  Still, when you listen to thee insects originals and tantrums originals, it's obvious which were more of an influence on our music.  Also, me and rj were backing nigel at the same time as lsok and the tantrums, we even played some gigs where I was in all three bands at once!  On the other hand, well before I ever heard the tantrums I owned both depo records and had them memorized note for note, so of course shimon was a big influence to me early on.  So was radiohead though, so whatever.  Tantrums were awesome when we played with teengenerate, that was one of the most fun shows of my life.  I don't have a problem with jamie, any feud between us is only in his head.

hey Officer Brad, would you be interested in doing a split single? I just made a song about your bass player

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Toc2QyOQERk

robert is the bass player in the band
he only has one finger on his hand
it's his middle, the rest are stumps
his left pinky got chopped off near the dump

he was raised jerkin off cattle
now when we fingers a girl, she rattles
off about how she's always gettin a fist
need i explain more i think you get the jist?

he smokes dope and likes his crack
the last two girls he had were wack
but all he fuckin wants his fingernials back
things are boring in wisconsin
it's a little tough for him to wiggle his jonhnson

robert has one finger
robert has three stumps
