So, nobody will give ME a job designing record covers but will allow dross like this to meet the shelves? Now, that makes me just plain mad. It's no wonder I'm so bitter.
I will say one thing, as a graphic designer, it's one of those things when a client comes in to you or the company you work for and asks for something done, generally they get 4 concepts for the design. One, is your treasured favourite, on which you spent all the allocated hours to caress to it's aesthetic glory. Two and three are just filler really, but you like certain aspects of them and you can live with the fact if they get chosen and number four is purposely a complete turd, scaling the heights of shite so bad, that you expect it will horrify the prospective client so much, they will be forced to choose your number one.
9 times out of 10: they choose the Turd.
It's because of things like this I temporarily quit being a graphic designer and went to work in a factory. I shit thee not.
I'm personally offended by all of these covers (save perhaps the MGMT one). I'm also offended that Ed Kowalcyzk is indeed Alive, and still making music, no doubt even more fatally pedestrian than any of the dreck that Live put out.
