I was once in a Van Halen coverband, for 2 shows, and I can say that fulfilling the Michael Anthony duties was probably the most fun I've ever had, although my costume had me looking more like a grizzled santa claus than anyone who should be onstage in a rock band, which I guess was a pretty accurate portrayal. And it was a good excuse to drink dangerous levels of whiskey and act like a caveman. I highly recommend to everyone to find a local Van Halen coverband and audition for the Michael Anthony role, for a good time.

I had no idea who the bassist for Van Halen was until this thread.  My Mom LOOOOOVES Van Halen, if she didn't like them so much I might have given them a chance at any point.  Saw Hagar once though, whoops.

Yes the solos are ridiculous. Maybe you could play the song "Running With the Devil" with your dick, but that kid in the video can't even play it with his hands in any sort of steady rhythm. Even if it were true about the dick/bass lines, which it isn't, let's see you try to sing his vocal parts. Yeah, I didn't think so. Great fucking band. Every album with David Lee Roth is worth owning.

Also, of course those bass parts had to be easy; otherwise the corner of that Jack Dan bass would cut the shit outta his wrist!!
